Elon is such a moron. Literally pushing people away from the struggling social network.
It's not hard to do this. If you have a backup with a copy of an old version of Twitter, you can install it on any phone.
Yeah, it’s also like saying :If I ask you; What’s your X username?
Does that sound weird to you? 😖
Did you know he literally did that? With a $1 Million, uninsured, car?Elon is that rich kid that crashes their fancy new car while trying to do a burnout to show off.
Everyone is bitching about Elon Musk’s business moves and yet they forget about Meta’s dumpster fire VR headset. Pumping in over 38 billion dollars of their own money only to lose almost 14 billion last year.
So I take it you’re not going to Threads?People (certainly not "everyone") are bitching about Elon Musk’s business moves because this article/discussion happens to be about Twitter/X. It's what happens on forums like this. When an article is about Meta, people will bitch about that company's business moves or products. When an article is about Alphabet, people will bitch about that company's business moves or products. When an article is about Microsoft, people will bitch about that company's business moves or products. And so on. Apple gets plenty of criticism on here too.
Sometimes an article doesn't even have to be about a particular company or product for people to bitch about it as you did here by bringing up Meta's "dumpster fire VR headset" in an discussion about Twitter/X.
The board’s job is to get maximum value. Elon signed a contract and overpaidI never figured we'd ever get to see what happens when you give a total manchild full control of one of the largest social media platforms, yet here we are.
I don't just blame Elon; I also blame the Twitter board for forcing the sale. Elon wanted to back out of the transaction but the board insisted. The blame is shared by both.
Freaking greedy idiots. Twitter had its faults but now it's a total mess. I hope lessons were learned from this. I doubt it.
She sounds like a joy to be around at the family reunion 😊My crazy sister deleted her Twitter account as soon as it got bought out and I no longer need to choose between reading her rants or unfollowing her and risking family drama, so on the whole I think it was a good use of 44 billion dollars.
Fair point. Serious question: have you tried Threads? The engagement is the best by far of any social media platform and definitely by a long shot compared to the dead bird. It feels much more human. Try it if you haven’t already."it’s hilarious to see people have a literal **** fit over what another man with money and influence does."
We have **** fits when what he's doing affects our lives, our work, etc.
Some people heavily used Twitter in their business models, now he's here screwing everything up for his own fun.
What lol? What did the board do that was wrong? Make money from the sale? Isn't that an end goal for a company? And if you believe twitter is going to die, shouldn't you be happy that useless spyware is going to die?I never figured we'd ever get to see what happens when you give a total manchild full control of one of the largest social media platforms, yet here we are.

you are so edgyThat's true. The same worthless people having the same worthless conversations...
I know, it's really weird that companies rebrand and change over the years. Weve never seen anything like this from any other company before. just simply mind-blowing.I just can’t believe it lol. been using Twitter since 2008 and Tweetbot very shortly after that.
Tweetbot is gone and now Twitter is “X”.
like wtf…
it’s so weird.
I have confidence Zuck will clog it up with ads, as he did with Facebook and Instagram.Fair point. Serious question: have you tried Threads? The engagement is the best by far of any social media platform and definitely by a long shot compared to the dead bird. It feels much more human. Try it if you haven’t already.
So you’re not okay with the name change, but okay with the “drama”?So, you feel branding and brand equity mean nothing? If Apple changed its name to Banana or perhaps a single letter like "X", everything would be fine and dandy and there would be no "drama"?
Or don’t read this. Can’t tell journalists how to do their work. Please stop embedding Tweets into articles. They don’t deserve the free extra views contributed by your (MacRumors) audience. Take a screenshot or figure out another way to share the info. I certainly don’t appreciate contributing to the views while viewing MacRumors content. I left the platform so I could get away from that crap and journalists continue to boost the platform. Stop it.
It's there.. That's all that matters. I'm not wanting this to become political, either. If there's one thing that no one seems to understand ever is that one person's experience with "thing" is usually not always the same experience that others have with "thing".I don’t want to turn this political so let’s be careful, but where are you seeing Nazis and hate? I follow a few conservative talking heads but mostly science-type stuff. I’ve never come across any nazis. That’s not to say they aren’t there, I’m just curious where you see that stuff?
