That'll probably be my first Apple purchase since 2015. My 2009 Mac Pro can't hold on forever, so luckily there's a screaming fast replacement for that and my 2015 MBP waiting for me.

A crazy fast second gen AS processor and 32G RAM please. Not fussed about MagSafe either way. Ditch the Touch Bar for real function keys. Then I just need VMWare to unveil their solution to running Intel VM on an Arm host in a performant way.

At the moment I'd be happy with a M1 MBP 16" in current form. I know it's not good enough for power users, but there's a plenty of people who only need bigger screen, better speakers, future-proof platform and cool and silent machine when using external monitor.

I actually think we’ll see the redesigned entry-level Apple Silicon iMac this month or next month. And I suspect we’ll see Apple Silicon pro level Macs (iMac Pro, MBP, Mac Pro) in the Fall.
The pre-seed M1x speed tests mentioned online has that referenced used
in:Apple MacBook Pro 14 (2021)
Apple MacBook Pro 16 (2021)
Apple iMac 27 (2021)

With everything going from M1 to some variation of M1X and the discontinuation of the iMac Pro it also makes sense to not necessarily treat a smaller iMac like the previous Intel CPU variations. Whatever entry level models of the above three will likely be a lot more capable as both the CPU/GPU will be Apples. I actually expect these three demoed in July WWDC shipping some time afterwards. I don’t think any iMac will be just a M1. I also expect the pro line with both a modular small pro model and the big workstation to come 2022. :)

If they were really planning on bringing back Classic MagSafe, would they have co-opted the name for the entirely different product used on iPhone?

Been waiting for a 15” or 16” MBP, expecting M1X.

Decided if it doesn’t come out this month gonna get a 13” MBP and use an external monitor with clamshell mode when at a desk.

Can always upgrade down the line, but can’t wait until October for M2.

So, these machines would probably use chips from TSMC N5P vs N5? Named M2 vs M1x?

I still think Apple has alot of A14/M1/(A14x/M1x?) sized silicon that they haven't shipped yet... A glut?

Not happy we have to wait until November for the new MBPs. The Mac always seems to last on the list of Apple’s priorities.

Not happy we have to wait until November for the new MBPs. Why is the Mac always last on the list of priorities for Tim Cook.
Its not on Tim Cook, at least not this time. Its just processor design/manufacturing takes time. Faster Apple Silicon chips are not yet available, its as simple as that

My 2020 13" MBP i7 threatens to burn my junk on the regular (less badly now that I'm back to using Safari instead of Chrome). Can't wait to replace with an Apple silicon Mx machine in a couple years.
Will you have any junk left in a couple of years? Good God, man, this situation sounds more urgent than you are treating it! :D

Just having 5 nm fabrication is a problem. Apple has essentially 100% of the TSMC’s 5nm space already. Samsung‘s fabrication is also already spoken for.
