>>In fact, the video doesn't even match up with photos they published two days ago<<

Perhaps they don't match up because the video is off the MacBook and the photos are of the MacBook Pro, huh?

Also, if you really pay attention to the video it does NOT look like the current MacBook Air.

Gimme the white stuff.

I love my white ibook. I would be all for a two-tone macbook. Plus won't the wireless reception be better than an all-aluminum enclosure?

I'll bet the Macbook will be a combo look of the iMac and iPhone 3G. The 3G has the outer ring of aluminum, and the iMac has the screen with a black border around it. Add the Air's keyboard and optional outer plastic covers - one tight laptop!

I bet the Pro will be a lot different, maybe similar to the Sony AW and FW. Just give me DDR3 ram, and the optional integrated graphics switch to dedicated graphics card.

What a Crock and about the only thing this brings is more hits for Macrumors!!! I love how this article states that this "should become clear" next Tuesday!

No kidding Arn!

OMFG, you're right - my MBA isn't all blurry like that the machine in that video is :D </sarcasm>
That is definitely an MBA in the video and someone whose only post is the one quoted above isn't going to suddenly convince anyone it isn't ;)

I'm confused as well. Im typing on a TiBook right now and it is in fact 2 tone..

Silver and White(ish).

Hell, it could be 3 tone with the dark transparant black keyboard.

1. There were photos of both MacBook Pro and MacBook top case; the latter looked on the top exactly like MacBook Air apart from the power button being differently placed - that's what the quoted line is about.

2. Can you point out the differences between the computer from the video and Air? That'd allow for some discussion... I don't see them as of yet (apart from "Air" being skipped, but that's no proof).

If Steve gives us MacBooks with aluminum on the inside but shiny scratchy plastic outer shells ala the iPhone, I'm gonna be pissed.

I have to admit the first time I viewed this video I thought it was real. However after actually watching it front to back I came away thinking that it had amazing use of post production blur and focus to make it harder to see that this is truly a MacBook Air.

Airbrush and a bit of stencil work can easily erase, relocate, and re-create a MacBook logo.

BY all means, enlighten us.

I did pay attention and it IS the MBA. Heck the bottom of the MBA is sitting right next to the top part.

I don't understand why they'd cover up the keys unless to draw more suspicion away of it actually being an Air even though they did a pretty poor job of it.

I would be lying if I said "I'd be interested in hearing your explaination" but others might find it humorous as to why you say it's NOT the air so please what's your explaination?

This is very true, however a more likely scenario in this case would be some simple rubbing or sandpaper to get rid of the 'air' part since the logo in video and the MBA logo are same color (dark gray).

Macbook Colours

I have been on the fence for awhile concerning a purchase of a new Macbook. I know I need one, but as of yet I have not been convinced to buy the new one when they come out.
The one thing that would convince me would be if the new Macbook came in the same colours as the nanos. I would buy a dark grey one immediatly, no hesitation whatsoever. White notebooks look amazing, but the grey would be perfect in my opinion.

May be a fake, but it's not an Air

I know it looks a lot like an Air, but the screen bezel is wider at the top than it is at the bottom. Looks like the corresponding part of the keyboard base also flares out slightly. Due to the widening, the corner curves are slightly more round.

Doesn't mean it's not a fake, but it's not a Mac Book Air.

Also: isn't the existing iMac two-tone metal and plastic?

Black Macbook with an aluminum top case? Hey, I just did a mockup a few weeks ago.

macbookalumockupjf0.jpg

(Mockup)

PS: Now I actually really want a Macbook upgrade kid, just the display bezel and macbook top case in aluminum and you pop your old trackpad and key caps in it. It would look almost exacly like the mockup.

If it looks like that (it will not) it's bloody ugly.

So let me get this straight. 9to5mac reported some time ago that "the Brick" is a solid block of Al that the MacBooks would be carved out of thanks to lasers and water jets. Now the same 9to5mac reports that the only Al part of the MacBooks are the inside? This seems like a pretty large discrepancy, considering that we've been hearing about a unified notebook line all around Al for a while.

Guess we'll have to wait till Tuesday to find out for sure. Can't get here soon enough.

The idea of a two-tone MacBook really turns me off right now.

BUT...

The black MacBook Air keyboard, turned me off in the beginning as well.
As did the HUGE black apple logo on the iMac.

Now, after getting used to them, I think both the MBA and the iMac looks awesome.

The only thing that looks a bit sad Apple-designwise now are the white keys on the keyboard when they are in front of the iMac. Black keys would have matched the iMac way better.
I predict that the current keyboards will be replaced with keyboards sporting black keys at some point.

Hmm, looking at Apple, video, iFixit, yep definitely an Air. One thing you have to think about is the way a camera angle distorts. This is identical to the Air even the bottom plate they show is the MBA's bottom plate. There's no 'flares out slightly" that I can see. I'm matching each piece up with the stock pictures and yep it's def an Air.

Yes the current iMacs are front/side/Foot alum and the back panel is black non-shiney plastic.

And will you stop making new accounts to try to prove your video? RichardH1 and energylad both 1 posters and both claiming it's not the MBA. As if we couldn't figure out who you are.

I cant even get the video to play hmm, from what I have been reading Im guessing its fake haha come on apple a two tone macbook? black ones are limited? we alll love the black one! why not all aluminum? hmm guess 14th will have to get here so our questions can be answered
