Stop with the features which are negative to our health.

Ever picked up a phone after using a Qi charger? It's hot as hell and who knows what negative side effects it's causing to our bodies.

I honestly don't get the point of why you would need this unless you just want a check box list of features to compare with your Samsung friends. If you are using your Airpods that often, you really need to do some introspection because if you are using them often, I wonder about your productivity, your social interactions at work and home.

Not really....great feature if you are caught with a dead phone in a pinch. I suspect the criticism is coming because Samsung did it first....so the feature must be pointless.

The only valid use case that will come out of that fact is so Android users can say “we had it first, Apple is just copying.”

Charging AirPods makes sense. Charging another phone is just stupid.

I guess they’d better include bigger batteries if this is the case.

Oh great. I hope apple doesn’t implement the wireless phone charging. I don’t want to have to be nice now whenever someone complains that their battery is dead.

If they add 300-400mah across the board for the same diagonals, will be very nice...but if they add just 20-30mah like they did in the pass...not a big deal

Let me propose we stop posing the same story over and over again like we did with Airpower.

That was wrong, this is just a guess and we don't need to be told 8 times it's coming but from someone else. I think everyone is burned out from the results after airpower. Apple has a long way to go before regaining a lot of our confidence in things.

You might want to double check the name of this website.

But what if those devices have overheating issues while charging?

Maybe this is one of the reasons AirPower was cancelled?

You are currently on a rumor site. They are going to post rumors.

Exactly. The name of the site is literally MacRumors. I'm so tired of the incessant whining from some members the last few years.

That'd be awesome. set my watch on top of my iPhone while I'm in the shower. No stupid proprietary charging puck.

That's what I am hoping for too. Then all the people who are flocking to Nomad to order their "Apple Watch" edition Qi charger will have a worthless charger. I am thinking of getting the non-Apple Watch version with the hopes they adopt the normal Qi Standard.
No way they ditch their proprietary standard without backwards compatibility. Not to mention it's Qi-based, so S5 will probably be compatible with Watch chargers and all Qi-based chargers. The real question is whether Apple can release a firmware update to allow S3/S4 to charge with Qi, given that some Qi chargers can charge S3/S4. Imo, the Nomad solution is the best, even better than Airpower (except for the place-anywhere thing that never existed anyway), because the Watch actually functions as a nightstand.

On Samsung you activate powershare in the notification window similar to turning on a hotspot or NFC.

Although your idea makes sense I don't think it's a good idea for power options to be triggered just by orientation.
Probably one of the biggest differences between iOS and Android is Android gives more granular control over settings and iOS doesn’t. Generally speaking. You might be right though, as I’m not an engineer so my speculations are just that.

Well, it doesn't work with most 3rd party chargers. Does it have a different charging method or is this just because Apple wanted to make a hefty profit on their chargers for the watch?

The Watch is based on modified Qi-standard. Apple can probably make it work with the iPhone if they wanted to.

Plot twist..the new iPhone is the AirPower mat.

In all seriousness i don’t think it’s a major feature but a welcome one for the convenience of travelling lightly - I charger.

That's really effed up, dude. What do you gain from this? Other than punishing a small business—one that's actually making great quality accessories? I have nothing against standardizing their wireless charging methods, but your remarks and "wishes" sound very sociopathic, and for what?
