Shoutout to @Grolubao for scouting out stock for me. It means I now finally have a MacBook I'm happy with. Third time lucky! Hopefully it stays that way. :)

The stocks in retail stores are certainly not as good as I expected. Considering John Lewis and PC World received stock I thought we would have a glut. However according to the person I spoke to in Regent Street today, they are receiving shipments but only about 15 at a time. By Apple standards that's nothing.

Good to hear! Best of luck with that one :)

Covent Garden just got a delivery of 15" top stock model for in store pickup tomorrow. Just ordered one with university discount. £2400 - I'm now going to go and cry in the corner with my credit card.

EDIT - Looks like they're sold out again now.

Anyone know if the Birmingham store has any display models yet? i would love to test out the touch bar.

Went into the Apple Store to pick-up my 15" I ordered and payed for online... started looking at the display models... fell in love with the 13" model.

Asked the Apple employee if they had any 13" touch bar models with 16GB ram... they had 16GB/500GB/3.3Ghz i7... switched my order over to that model.

Now have my 13" back home - see you in another 4 years for the next update. :)

Do you know whether they had 13'' 16gb with 512 and 2.9?

The guy serving me said Covent Garden only had the 3.3 with the 16GB ram. If I wanted the lower CPU with 16gb (which I did) then i'd have to order it... took the bullet and got the 3.3.

Hello,

I was wondering about if there are any 15" tMBP available around SOHO. I am arriving tomorrow to London from Iceland and really wanted to get one, since Iceland won't get any until January and looking at http://www.istocknow.com/live/ it seams that they are sold out :(.

Best,
B

Buy it at the airport (Dixons travel) on your way back home. You will pay less than retail price. Call them to see if they have it in stock.

The online pickup service doesn't really have the latest stock. Try calling the stores.

I have to use online pickup for my student discount, no ID.

There was stock late last week for about a day and that's it. Been checking constantly.

You don't need your ID in store if you sweet talk the sales person a bit. I've bought 3 macs in both the Eldon Square and Metrocentre store over the last few years on student discount. I haven't been a student since 2003.

And, for example... I know that the Eldon Square shop in Newcastle has stock of the 15" 1TB, 460, highest processor model because I've just been in the store. But the website says 9th January.
