Anyone know if the Applestore in the Metrocentre in Gateshead have the TB on display.

Oh ffs. 15" higher spec showed as available at Covent Garden. Placed order and now showing as 4th Jan.....

I managed to pick up a BTO 15" (1TB SSD/2.9GHz/460 Graphics) today from Covent Garden. Worth checking as stocks appear to be coming through now.

Anyone seen any BTO stock outside of London? Liverpool certainly don't have any (and aren't anticipating any - though obviously that doesn't necessarily mean much)

Even if they are in stock in store, the online checker seems to always shows as not available to pick up, for BTO variants.

That is strange since I need a replacement and the lady at the phone told me that no stock 15" with 512gb would be sent to stores, only Stock ones

Ignore lady on phone...

I think we need a big note on this site to ignore all Apple staff. Even in store, they will tell you they have none, until they look on their POS system, and be like "oh never knew!".

These staff aren't always clued up as to what is delivered to stores etc - most usually just go off whatever the out of sync online store says.

Me and getting my first MBP is just not meant to be. Everytime I try to place a pick up order for today, someone else manages to snag it before me. Happened 3 times now.

It was the other way round with me, I called to ask if they had any in, was told they did, but the in-store staff didn't believe me and I had to insist they check their stock system.

Fingers crossed for stock tomorrow - is the online pick-up stock updated at a specific time?

According to an Apple employee apparently they don't get deliveries on Mondays so it seems like there wont be stock tomorrow.

Truck loads of Macbook Pro are flying to the UK today, so stores will probably stock more ... stock configurations.

Fingers crossed - I'm waiting for a 15" max stock model to come into stock anywhere in London. Watford, Regent Street and Covent Garden all had stock a few days ago but finally went to order Friday and they were all gone.

Now there's 0 stock available anywhere in London.

If you can go to any, I found the Covent Garden being the nicer one on a human perspective (although I haven't visited all the Apple Stores in and around London...).

I second that staff are clueless in store. When I said I wanted a 1TB maxed out 15"m they said we can help you configure it online and it will be delivered the store in January. I said they are available and first response was no. Then they said, only select stores. Then when they finally checked, low and behold, it showed up on their device!!

C'mon, Apple. Train your staff properly!!!

Completely agree. Apple employees themselves are clueless. Your best bet is to walk into a store and check for yourself. I saw a top spec 15" in Stratford last week so they are definitely in circulation.

Yeah that's the only way. Gotta be firm. There was stock late last week but there were none late yesterday and none today. Been to Regents street and covent.

It's inaccurate. Ignore it - it said my local store had no stock and yet I pick-up my TBMBP there the very same day.

It's accurate for online pickups. It can't check actual store stock, it just lets people know that they can order online for pickup same day but if it shows no stock, it doesn't mean there isn't actually stock at the store.
