There’s a UPS2114 jet from Louisville to JFK that’s in the air right now that I thought my iPhone was on, but UPS doesn’t say my package departed. That doesn’t mean it won’t update later, but I’m thinking that plane doesn’t have my phone.

Maybe it’s the UPS2076 plane to Newark instead.

I have too much free time on my hands to be tracking this stuff lol.

Is everyone's orders still "Preparing to ship" on Apple's order status page? Or have some people received their tracking# from Apple yet?

Normally, I would see a separate order for a trade in kit with my iPhone preorder and I would also usually receive the kit ahead of the new phone. Is everyone who’s trading in also seeing that on their order page?

I’m not. I’m on the iPhone Upgrade Program and contact Apple to verify that I will be receiving a kit, but they said one of my options is to go to the Apple Store for the trade in and I will receive a gift card for future purchases.

The problem is, I don’t need a gift card. I need the loan for my old phone closed. 😩

Usually they fly out overnight and arrive in the local cities on 9/20 morning of delivery

She said, and I don’t know if any of it is true, that it is a UPS thing that they cannot put the hold on it at the CC. She then said I could call my shipper or the or the UPS number and have an intercept done on it to hold at the cc but she couldn’t put that in there.
She is correct. The CC can't place a Hold for release. Only the Shipper or you by phone or using the My Choice UPS app. As we have discussed earlier on this thread. Apple will not allow Hold for release this year. You can request a hold after a 1 failed delivery or redirect to a UPS store. Both will delay your delivery beyond Friday.

This has been answered a half dozen times today, as recently as 20 minutes ago, so I will copy and paste the answer I gave to the last person who asked. Everyone will still show that until tomorrow. The phones began to transit from China late this past weekend. Once they clear customs in Kentucky, you will be provided tracking information from Apple. If you have a confirmed UPS MyChoice account, the phone tracking info would have been populated there days ago.

All just preparing to ship on Apple's site, but you can usually use UPS' "Track by Reference Number" tool and use your Apple Store order number minus the last two digits to see its current status. A bunch of us here also use UPS My Choice that gives us detailed info for packages arriving to our address!

If you see tracking from China then your new iPhone will be going through SDF (Louisville).

Nothing will leave Louisville until later tomorrow... at least that's how it's worked in previous years.

Well,
Struck out.
Fairly new person working there, and she was the only person there. She said, and I don’t know if any of it is true, that it is a UPS thing that they cannot put the hold on it at the CC. She then said I could call my shipper or the or the UPS number and have an intercept done on it to hold at the cc but she couldn’t put that in there. She did look up the tracking number that I gave to her, it has not cleared customs yet but she gave me an estimated delivery between 1115 to 315 on Friday, whereas the UPS customer center doesn’t open till 11 o’clock on Friday anyway. she did suggest that I could call UPS later and try to get it intercepted, so I’m sure I will just try to have it intercepted tomorrow after it clears customs.
Welcome back from your lunch ! Be aware of your intercept, if doesn’t make will call at end of day , could be Monday since the CC is not open Saturdays (it was only open on Saturday of the year .

I just replied to him , there is a high chance the intercept will delay it but that’s his call lol

The trade in kits for the iPhone upgrade program always come after the new phones arrive, usually a week or two later. The loan generally closes out when Apple receives the phone, which is generally before your next payment goes through. If there happens to be some weird timing and you have your next payment before the trade in is complete, they usually will just refund the previous payment automatically

Has that changed then? Because I have always received the trade in kit a couple of days before the phone even releases. But that was maybe 3 years ago. The last two years, I picked up the phone at the store on launch day, which is why I’m a little worried.

Does that then mean that the 14 day window doesn’t really apply to the iPhone Upgrade program if we possibly won’t receive the kit up to 2 weeks after?
