Sitting at the Apple Store. Used a gift card to preorder. They won’t give me the phone. The system tells me to call 1800MYAPPLE.

I am on a 20 minute hold. As a person who uses ONLY Apple products, I am beyond annoyed, borderline angry and this is just a series of things that have happened lately where I have been left very disappointed with their support channels.
Try adding them to your Apple account and using that as part of your payment. It will be a lot easier than messing with cards.

Here’s the boat I’m in…16PM loaded onto a truck yesterday, then at 2:11pm local time switched over to “pending release from a Gov’t Agency”. Last night it moved to “Saturday delivery” bur claims to be back in KY. This morning it also says delivered by Monday. Called UPS yesterday but they didn't have any info for me.

Wondering if I can have Apple cancel the delivery and just go pick up in store.

Hey I'm back with a quick question...

I called and cancelled the AppleCare+ on my old phone. The balance is being refunded to my Goldman Sachs load. But I paid that loan off early so that account should be closed.

Does anyone know what's going to happen to that balance? Will I need to contact Goldman Sachs? (ick)

That's what I did.

UPS International rep was useless.

He had to Google the hours of the Customer Counter hub where my 16 Pro was stuck at 6am yesterday.

He thinks it was stolen since there should have been another scan when it arrived for truck loading.

Filing a missing iPhone report - was asked to call back Monday.

That's what I did. I missed it Friday. They said redeliver Monday, but then surprise! They really meant Saturday. I missed them by 30 minutes returning from the grocery store.

Friday midday I ended up ordering from Apple and having it delivered that day. I had UPS hold my original order until Wednesday when I'll be home, and I'm just going to cancel the order and return it.
 
Here we go. Was delivered a couple hours ago, but I had to go to a dinner with a friend and so I didn’t get to unbox it until I got back home. Setting it up now!
Glad I went with the black this time, natural was my second choice.

Yeah me too! I would of thought you would of got yours today as well, but good to hear you went and just grabbed one from the store after all this nonsense from UPS. You'll find out what the deal is on Monday.
 
I am starting over again. I just had the most difficult time not obsessing over this, so I had to order another phone with a delivery date of Oct. 16-22. Nah I went with a Desert Titanium Pro Max. I decided to try a PM for once instead of the Pro I ordered and received yesterday.
 
Started the data transfer from my SE. It currently says it’s going to take 21 hours. That seems excessive.
Mine started with 22 hours estimation! It was transferring via ThunderBolt 4 cable from my old 15PM. It got down to claiming 4 hours in about half an hour, but then seemed to get stuck there, progress bar did not progress. I had to go somewhere so I shut it down.

Thought I'd leave the 16PM home doing an iCloud restore, but it wanted an updated iCloud backup and i waited a while and it didn't finish the backup and I had to go.

Got home and decided to try the iCloud restore again and it took maybe 5 hours to get it to where I could use the phone while it continued to download apps, etc. I left the phone near the router overnight and fifteen hours later it still claimed to have 500GB to download to complete the restore. I have very fast internet and router (wifi 7 and 10Gb ethernet), used ethernet cable on the phone all Saturday afternoon and evening and got it down to 200GB left but ran out of patience!

I still have the 15PM, connected it to my MBP and updated the day old encrypted backup, and have started the restore again!

Funny as I got the phone from UPS earlier than i ever could have imagined, but just couldn't get the slow iCloud servers to finish my restore.

I was able to use the phone for some photos, watched some videos, listened to some podcasts, and really love the new phone. Restore from Mac looks to be half done after an hour, will be interesting to see the final timing of the migration.

I have an eero 7 Max to access my 2Gbps fiber internet.

This is my 16PM on an Ethernet cable. I had done a previous wifi 7 speed test, but failed to screenshot that one, but it was symmetrical with 1900+ Mbps! Blew me away!

My 15PM did something around 1400 Mbps on the eero.

Crazy to have to finally give up on my iCloud restore as it was 30+ hours and still had another 15 hours to go if I was lucky. Something not right there!

OK did I miss a step in your update? Is there some reason that your are not just restoring your Encrypted backup from your Mac to your new iPhone 16 PM? Or is that what you are doing now?

Just because your Wi-Fi 7 is fast and your Internet connection is fast at 2 Gbps. You are still limited to the speed that your iCloud session has allocated to your connection. Logically your Quick Start over Wi-Fi should be the next fastest after a local Encrypted restore via cable since all connections are local.

Yes, the updated encrypted backup on my Mac is going to the 16PM.

My story does skip some steps as I had multiple attempts to get it all done interrupted by various mishaps, including a double click on side button to confirm that I accidentally canceled as the phone slipped as i was trying to do the double click. It has been a maddening experience after the unexpectedly early delivery on Friday.

I am aware that 2Gbps internet is limited by the speed of the iCloud server, but after 30 hours it appeared it was going to take another 15 hours and I finally bailed.

The restore to 16PM is now showing 3/4 complete on progress bar after about 2 hours. Encrypted backup was somewhere around 700GB.

After the restore completes I'll erase my 15PM and my son will move his 13PM to it, and then his 13PM goes to his grandmother who is still on my old iPhone X from all those years ago! It is so much fun seeing the phones move down to family chain.
 
Just about to go to bed. Around 940pm my phone came. They're putting in the overtime hours to deliver. It was supposed to be yesterday.

The package has writing on it and it says "missed". Lol
 
After multiple missed UPS delivery attempts last year and the inability to redirect to a UPS depot learned my lesson and picked it up at an Apple Store this year.
Just curious about these "missed" delivery attempts that I see on here. I didn't get the 15 last year, but I usually get my iPhones from Apple. This year I did get a 16PM and everything including the transfer from my 14PM went perfect so I was fortunate.

My UPS guy said that no signature was required this year, but he has my garage door code and he always leaves everything (including iPhones) in there for me.
I did not see a release on the Apple site this year, but I do remember when Federal Express delivered them he needed a signature, so I did the release and left it for him.

So in general did your Apple deliveries require a signature this year, or the UPS drivers at their discretion wouldn't leave them?
 
Mine required signature, was Not Noted on apple receipt or on UPS My Choice app. Some people had UPS My Choice screenshots posted where it showed sig required, majority did not, yet they had missed delivery attempts because no one home to sign. Many comments that it was up to the UPS driver...
 
My “cancel order” went away this morning! I know it’s not nearly as exciting as everyone who got theirs already but still fun ha. Did yours go away yet?
yes, it's gone. now there's a message saying: "Your order can’t be changed at this time. If you’d like to make changes to this order, please try again Sunday morning."
 
This is so frustrating. UPS finally added "Correct Your Address" but it doesn't work. I've tried iPhone (Safari, Chrome, and Firefox), iPad, Mac (Safari/Chrome), and Windows (Chrome/Edge). The form never loads and their support is closed today.

I contacted Apple again and they confirmed that the address on the label matches the billing and shipping (which I already knew because MyChoice and the other package in the order got delivered.) They submitted a change request anyway, but said it will push delivery to Tuesday, which sucks because I'm required to work in office Tuesday - Thursday.

I asked if the restrictions placed by Apple could be lifted so I could pick it up and they said no. No stores within a 5 hour drive have the Pro Max in stock.

I asked if the restrictions placed by Apple could be lifted so I could pick it up and they said no. No stores within a 5 hour drive have the Pro Max in stock.

We’re on DSL here in the sticks. Started transfer phone to phone Friday at around 5pm, initially said 22 hours, then 12, then 10 then 9. Then the old phone (15PM) finally said transfer was complete but on the new phone apps were still downloading. They finally were all downloaded late yesterday afternoon, 24 hours later. Glad I picked nat ti. Went to the Apple store yesterday to have the Belkin screen protector installed with their machine. The person I ordered it from on the phone despite my half dozen repetitions to be sure to order the one they apply with the machine ordered the one you apply by hand so took a while for the nice rep at the store to return that one and get the right one. In the meantime I looked at the 16 Pros. Desert ti looks pink. The rep said guys had been coming in complaining that it looks gold online but pink in the store. Still a nice color but different from how it looks online.

I know you contacted apple, but I would go to apple.com and pull up my order there and look at the actual invoice and make sure for myself that it matches and also the tracking number. Wires may be crossed up somewhere...
