So in general did your Apple deliveries require a signature this year, or the UPS drivers at their discretion wouldn't leave them?
In some previous years they left it. Last year they required the signature.

UPS has told me it’s up to the driver and also that their contract with Apple requires a signature. My new driver is really obnoxious and won’t come from my rural gate to my front door, only about 300’ and he can pull his truck into my driveway, doesn’t have to leave it in the road but he does. I had to work so my wife had to sit out by the gate all morning to not miss him. First nasty driver I’ve had in 8 years out here. Happily all is well, phone is set up and working fine, love it.Mine required signature, was Not Noted on apple receipt or on UPS My Choice app. Some people had UPS My Choice screenshots posted where it showed sig required, majority did not, y300’et they had missed delivery attempts because no one home to sign. Many comments that it was up to the UPS driver...
Took it to the Apple store, they tried a hard reset 3 times before admitting something was wrong and luckily had another desert titanium in the back for cases like this.Try a hard reset. Press volume up button, then volume down button, then hold the sleep wake button for like 10-20 seconds or until/if you see an Apple logo. I’ve had this issue a couple times before and this always fixed it.
My driver requires a signature for anything from Apple, even the cheapest accessory I’ve ordered. I know he jerks my chain because I reported him for being rude and a bully when I had to chase him all over the neighborhood to get my little cheapo item because he parked his truck in the road and refused to come to my front door. I took the day off to sit by the front door all day for nothing. I’ve had great interactions with all the UPS drivers we’ve had but this guy is truly awful. Even other UPS drivers I’ve run into agree. I wish it was time to change route assignments. In some previous years they left it. Last year they required the signature.
It shows the correct address.UPS My Choice app? What does your address show in there
Well UPS certainly knows if it was scanned onto the truck for delivery or not, so that leaves two things I can think of. Driver delivered to wrong address and didn't scan or it "walked off". Something of this $$ amount I would think they'd want to take a real close look into it.It shows the correct address.
Between Friday and yesterday, I’ve spent close to 2 hours working with UPS support. The address is correct in the system and he said maybe the label was damaged. He allegedly contacted the hub several times but no one answered. I checked the invoice already and it’s correct. It’s the same address I’ve been using for 6 years. There were multiple packages on the same order, I got them all except the phone.
Ugh, I’m sorry you have to through this. I hope it gets resoleved.Well UPS certainly knows if it was scanned onto the truck for delivery or not, so that leaves two things I can think of. Mine is out for delivery. Says before 12 on the homepage. 2-6 if I click on it. Before 7 on the email. Was hoping to make it to the Apple store today but waiting around on UPS.
@Xoterin This is where your package went missing...if it was scanned out for delivery then it had a good label at that time when it was put on the truck. Sounds like it "walked off" and UPS should investigate.Very annoyed by UPS right now. He brings my daughter’s backpack, I ask where’s the other package?
He says there isn’t one. Backpack updated to delivered. Phone updated to 2nd delivery attempt made. 😤
Tomorrow is not looking happy - waiting for UPS trace dept to call back, Apple to cancel the pre-order if I can because technically it's in UPS's hands, and maybe I have to file a $1000 stolen phone report to the Ontario Police dept ?@Xoterin This is where your package went missing...if it was scanned out for delivery then it had a good label at that time when it was put on the truck. It’s been scanned out for delivery twice. On Friday the people at the hub found it on the truck. We’ll see tomorrow morning. Really wish they’d let me pick it up.@Xoterin This is where your package went missing...if it was scanned out for delivery then it had a good label at that time when it was put on the truck. That is a complete lie about the contract with Apple. If Apple required a Signature then it would have show on the UPS Tracking Information. That is a Shipper option.UPS has told me it’s up to the drive and also that their contract with Apple requires a signature.
As I posted earlier in response to you that the Driver can not leave the road and pull onto your private drive. It is a standard UPS policy. My new driver is really obnoxious and won’t come from my rural gate to my front door, only about 300’ and he can pull his truck into my driveway, doesn’t have to leave it in the road but he does.
Previous commenters say no diceAnyone have any experience with signing the back of the attempted delivery invoice notice from ups?
UPS only will try 3 times to deliver Apple orders. After 1 delivery attempt you can request it be held for pickup. Did you get an Attempted delivery slip on your first attempt with a local phone number to call? It’s been scanned out for delivery twice. On Friday the people at the hub found it on the truck. We’ll see tomorrow morning. Really wish they’d let me pick it up.
Mine had me sign.Just curious about these "missed" delivery attempts that I see on here. I didn't get the 15 last year, but I usually get my iPhones from Apple. This year I did get a 16PM and everything including the transfer from my 14PM went perfect so I was fortunate.
My UPS guy said that no signature was required this year, but he has my garage door code and he always leaves everything (including iPhones) in there for me.
I did not see a release on the Apple site this year, but I do remember when Federal Express delivered them he needed a signature, so I did the release and left it for him.
So in general did your Apple deliveries require a signature this year, or the UPS drivers at their discretion wouldn't leave them?
Had a temp driver do that to me with an Apple charger. I saw the truck pull up, by the time I got to the front door he was gone and left a "missed delivery" note. Called the toll-free number and confirmed it didn't need a signature. My driver requires a signature for anything from Apple, even the cheapest accessory I’ve ordered. Yes when I worked for FedEx back in the day (see nic) we were not allowed to go down driveways either. They had to be so many feet long and then they’d make an exception. That is a complete lie about the contract with Apple. If Apple required a Signature then it would have show on the UPS Tracking Information. That is a Shipper option.
It the package is shipped without a Signature requirement it is up to your local UPS policy and 99% of them leave it up to the Driver to decide if they want a Signature to release the package.
As I posted earlier in response to you that the Driver can not leave the road and pull onto your private drive. It is a standard UPS policy.

I must have missed that response because the response from you that I recall somewhere in these 235 pages was that the UPS driver has a limit as to how long he can leave his truck in the road. If you’re correct, almost every UPS driver I’ve had since I moved to FL almost 30 years ago and whom I’ve seen deliver packages to neighbors has violated UPS policy by pulling into driveways and in my case even driving down my driveway to my front door. Interesting that the person I spoke with at UPS headquarters said it was inappropriate that he didn’t pull into my driveway and come to my front door. It’s also interesting that a couple of Apple reps I’ve spoken with about this verified that they have an agreement with UPS that anything of value from Apple requires a signature, even if it doesn’t show in the tracking info. Requiring a signature for less expensive accessories they said is at the driver’s discretion. But who knows? Maybe UPS headquarters and Apple are all wrong and you’re right. Anyway, it’s Sunday, had a busy day yesterday so I’m tired and will spend the rest of the day enjoying my phone that my wife had to sit at the gate all morning on Friday to sign for. That is a complete lie about the contract with Apple. If Apple required a Signature then it would have show on the UPS Tracking Information. That is a Shipper option.

You were right! It is pneumonia. How’s your breathing? Did you have a chest X-ray? Might have pneumonia.
Yep, same. Pain in the butt.Had a temp driver do that to me with an Apple charger. I saw the truck pull up, by the time I got to the front door he was gone and left a "missed delivery" note. Called the toll-free number and confirmed it didn't need a signature.
With all the delivery attempts, has there been a door tag left at your apartment? It’s been scanned out for delivery twice. On Friday the people at the hub found it on the truck. We’ll see tomorrow morning. Really wish they’d let me pick it up.
“Out for delivery” =/= “delivery attempt”With all the delivery attempts, has there been a door tag left at your apartment?
Post 5859 quote, 2nd Delivery Attempt“Out for delivery” =/= “delivery attempt”
