Why not? How far are you from Louisville?

I’m on the MS Gulf Coast

It would have to make it UPS’ Gulfport, MS distribution center and on the truck in the next couple of hours.

This is the also the 3rd or 4th delivery date revision so my confidence in UPS is currently low. lol

Apple says Monday. Like others UPS said today earlier this week and then changed to the ‘updating plans’ line. Guess we’ll see what happens. Thanks for the guess on the flight.
Then you iPhone should leave SDF late Sunday into early Monday morning (1-4 AM) and be delivered to you by end of day Monday.

What does a blue shift look like ?
How do you check ?
Basically when you look at the screen straight on, it looks perfect, but as soon as you start tilting the screen to the left, right or towards you at an angle, you'll see a blue-ish hue over the screen, so the color white becomes blue-ish white for example.

This is only present on some of the units. It's not unusual given the OLED variance in panels, as no screen is identical. However, some units don't exhibit this issue. Based on my own personal experience, most of the launch stock doesn't have this issue while most of the recent stock that's been arriving to stores now have this issue.

Here's an example I found on a reddit post about this that shows the blue shift in action and comparing it to a display without it:

BTW, if you haven't seen it, don't go looking for it on your device, just enjoy your phone!

Is this an LG or Samsung panel?

phone made it to Louisville KY, followed by an error message at 7:30am today:

"A UPS processing error has delayed delivery. We're adjusting plans as quickly as possible"

Sigh
Sorry but it was very likely not going anywhere today just to sit waiting for a Delivery truck load on Monday. Apple does not pay for normal Saturday delivery with UPS.

Sounds like it is on UPS 81 headed to ANC. Do you happen to be on the West Coast since UPS 81 goes to Ontario, California after ANC?

Dave
I'm in Seattle. I am tracking UPS 81. In prior years my iPhones have gone to Louisville, but all other Apple purchases have seemed to go through Ontario. We'll see. Either way, the Monday delivery estimate UPS is giving me seems accurate.

Ah that would seem to make sense as to why your iPhone went to Shanghai and then waited around until the last weekly flight out on UPS 81 (consolidate west coast orders). Monday delivery should be very easy to hit at this point. Good luck on Monday.

Had ordered from AT&T directly (mostly due to the trade in offer running) on 9/20 and was given est. shipping dates between Oct 4-18. I waited a week and no change. I figured maybe it might move up sooner over the course of a week or 10 days, but no luck. AT&T didn't give me the option to pick up in store, either. So whatever. Was just going to wait. But then...I found that my local Best Buy finally had in-store stock yesterday and the same exact trade-in offer, so I canceled the AT&T order and picked up the phone at Best Buy within an hour. I'd previously checked Best Buy and my local stores had no in-store stock, but shipping dates within a week or two. I thought, okay maybe, but I'll stick with my AT&T order for now. But as soon as BB had in-store pickup, it was the easiest call ever to cancel and re-order from BB.

It's kinda insane to me that in 2024 it's easier to buy a new phone at a retailer than your own carrier store.

Just received UPS email saying that delivery has now been updated from Tuesday, Oct 1 to Friday, Sep 27.

Then went to app and it shows delivery now scheduled for Sat, Sep 28th, estimated by 12pm.

Last scan info indicates it is still in Louisville, KY but now with note:

"On the Way: Saturday delivery has been requested. Delivery will be rescheduled for Saturday"

I have not requested Saturday delivery from UPS but happy if they come thru and actually deliver tomorrow. Suppose it's either some form of make good by UPS due to delivery issues or else related to me being premium UPS MY Choice member

Yep UPS and FedEx often tweak delivery dates on the fly. No way it could even make a delivery today.

Do you normally see UPS trucks in your local area on Saturday? Did the scan indicate the request for a Saturday deliver was "requested by Louisville"? It will show Louisville right under the message. While I hope you get your delivery tomorrow there is an even chance it may be Monday based on your local UPS Saturday delivery truck scheduling that would have already been planned.

Sorry but nothing to do with your My Choice paid level of service. It was UPS if Apple's Order detail showed was due for delivery today or if UPS was trying to improve their metrics for September deliveries.

Yes, UPS trucks are common here on Saturday (DFW area). Apple site is still showing estimated delivery Oct 2 - 7th. UPS delivery has gone from Sep 26th to Oct 2nd, then Sep 27th and now Sep 28th.

Here is the tracking, scan details....
