I ordered my 16 PM on September 13 @ about 5:10 am. I opted to have it shipped instead of store pickup & i got a delivery date between October 2-7. Got my tracking # on Monday & i have a delivery date of September 27. I think all of the inspections are done so hopefully it’s out of China by now. They seem to be moving the orders fast this year. It *is* out of China. It's departed Incheon, South Korea. Next Anchorage AK, then Louisville KY, then your local hub.

September 27 does seem *very* likely.

Do you know which method they send out the iPhones? 2 day or one day overnight?

They said it’s gonna be delivered on Monday but I’m doubting that.
It is a little complicated and depends on where your iPhone starts out for delivery. If it is coming from China (Pro, Max units) then it is UPS Worldwide Saver. Once it reaches UPS WorldPort in Louisville, KY it should reach you before end of day as long as it makes the flight to your area. If it ships from an Apple location in the US then it will be UPS Next Day Air Saver.

It can leave overnight from UPS WorldPort Sunday night and reach your address before end of day on Monday.

Yet another crappy update LOL. UPS followed up with me saying that the package is considered lost since it hadn't been scanned since Monday. I contacted Apple to share that info and they called UPS themselves (allegedly), who stated that the package was ready for pickup at my local hub. Apple called and told me this info. I asked if it was really there and waiting for me; the rep assured me this was the case and said that I could pick it up.

When I got to the hub, the UPS clerk told me my package hadn't been "seen" since Monday and was not on the radar. She also mentioned that they've been having a problem with iPhones going missing. Funny enough, another guy in the hub picking up an iPhone was being told his phone was also missing as I was entering the building. What I overheard is that UPS opened the bulk box and it was empty. Not a great look on Apple.

I contacted Apple again because I was irritated having left work and driving 15 minutes for no reason. They kept trying to tell me that the package was waiting for me at the hub, but I had to convince them that UPS was considering the package as lost. There seems to be a huge disconnect between Apple's info and what UPS knows/is communicating to customers. Apple keeps trying to make me wait 24-48 hours to see if the package finally shows up as ready for pick up from the hub. I asked them to cancel the order (since the courier said it is lost) and refund my card. It took some back and forth but they finally submitted the request. I truly hope that Apple looks at this launch and reconsiders using UPS for this sort of thing.

Now I'm off to re-order for an in-store pick up

Never happened. There is no bulk box that multiple iPhone units are packaged in for a UPS location. They are all small individual boxes that enter the sort in Louisville after clearing Customs holding.

The issue of lost or stolen iPhones is for UPS or FedEx to resolve. Apple pays them to ship to the destination that Apple indicated on the Shipping Label.

ETA: add last sentence..

So I was going to skip this release, but then when I was returning my old Apple Watch I took a look at the new phone. I shouldn't have done that!! I placed an order with a delivery around a month out. I'm sure I'll be checking the not so local stores to see if they have any, otherwise I can wait.

ugh. first year missing launch day delivery (already had pre-ordered for upgrade program, ordered within 5min of order start, and got Oct 2 - 7 delivery window).

Got ship notice this past Sat (9/21), Apple still showed delivery Oct 2 - 7 but UPS was showing Sep 26. Then on Sun (9/22) it just sat for 2 days getting clearance. Finally cleared on Tue (9/24) but as of Wed PM (9/25) shows no new scans; just a "your package is in transit, we're updating plans to schedule your delivery'.

In past years, the phone always cleared within 1 day and constantly showed tracking updates until it reached me. So really frustrating this year what's going on with UPS. Hopefully, UPS has not lost my phone still in China.

Same initial ETA as me! I got this pre-order in 7:04AM 9/13 too.

When it shipped UPS gave me a 9/26 delivery date, and that’s been revised

As of today mine is still in China…
same. got ship notice on 9/21 with delivery for 9/26, then it sat for a few days in clearance and now for past 1.5 days it just says same as yours. UPS no longer has the 9/26 delivery date

Same. I was going to wait it out because I thought my upgrade wasn’t available. Miraculously a few days after launch I was “eligible for an early upgrade” (iPhone Upgrade Program). So here I am with a delivery date of Oct 8th-15th after ordering on 9/23. We’ll see how fast this goes.

2 years ago UPS lost my phone for almost a month!! I finally gave up and bought another one. Right after I did that it was found. It took them at least 3 weeks!!! I never picked it up from UPS so it went back to Apple. This year I wasn't going to upgrade and then changed my mind today and ordered one. It will be the first time I didn't get one on release day.

Anyone have any issues picking one up in store using monthly installments? I have an order online with October 8-15th dates but there is now some in my local store. Will I have to “activate in store” or will they let me just go get it and leave.

If you buy installments, you have to choose a carrier.

If you want to choose a carrier later, then you have to pay in full.

Is the Eero 7 worth it?
It is for me!

Altafiber (nee Cincinnati Bell) had been offering symmetrical 2Gb fiber for a ridiculous price for the last few years, but recently did a promo for $10 more/month than my previous 1Gb down/600Mb up. This altafiber price reduction occurred as I was moving a lot of video files for editing between two 10Gb ethernet computers running 1Gb ethernet through the previous eero router, and then uploading 10s of GB of video files I'd edited via the 600 up connection. I had been transferring the original video files from one computer to an SSD and then using the SSD on the other one to import for editing. A lot of wasted time when dealing with hundreds of GBs of videos!

I was told I would need a new router to make use of the faster symmetrical bandwidth. And that new router could move the files between computers at amazing speeds without the intermediate step.

I found the Max 7 on sale, got a rebate for my old eero 6, and now am amazed at how fast the whole thing works.

I noticed previous computers and iOS devices were faster with their older wifi protocols, and the iPhone 16PM with wifi 7 is astounding.

The main issue with the 2Gb internet is that download speeds are often limited by slow servers. I was dismayed at how slow the iCloud servers have been restoring the files to my new phone.

I am curious what the percentage of delivered phones was for people with preorders with Launch Day delivery. I have always stated on these threads that no matter where the phone appeared to be in the shipping tracking info, almost everyone will get their iPhone on that day.

And my phone arrived 45 minutes before the delivery window opened, more than 8 hours before I thought they'd get it to me. It was an exceptional delivery this year!

But I do think this will be the last year I wait for UPS to deliver, I loved going to the CC to pick up my phone early in the day. Next year I will go for ISPU and choose my own time. Though that is what I tried to do this year, but couldn't get it to show me an in store option while I was trying to complete my order before the shipping dates started slipping.

Good luck and have fun with your new phones! They are pretty amazing, and the upcoming updates will make them even more so.

Apple finance.
As @4sallypat posted above if you chose Apple Financing then you will need to select one of the 4 Carriers and the phone will be Activated when they process your purchase and before you leave the store. They just have to Scan the box and pick the Carrier at checkout.

Why do you want to just pay and go without activating?

While it is often possible during the first few days with the huge crowds but once the surge is over your odds drop to almost Zero.

I picked ATT and I have ATT. My problem is, I want to upgrade but my current phone isn’t fully paid off yet. ATT says I can switch my esim to the new phone and still have the old phone on my account with monthly payments. My current phone is “free”, but they auto pay it monthly and I would owe the remainder. If anything I guess I just pay off my current phone or pay for the new one in full.. wish this wasn’t so confusing and complicated lol.

Howdy folks - just checking in to say I hope you are all getting your phones on time!

Also, a word about battery life for the Pro Max. Mine has been off the charger for about 21 hours and I still have about 33% charge. I live in Tampa and so it has been heavily used today, refreshing the National Hurricane Center website frequently and checking in with my employees, friends and family. I’ve watched a few videos and attended a couple of Zoom meetings as well. All in all, I’m pretty pleased with it!
