That could very well be true...I haven't seen anything substantiated.

They are initially for in-country usage and later they will move to build for Export.

They might not come from the same warehouse, you could have gotten a first batch iPhone and 10th batch AirPods shipment, or the more likely reason Apple just hasn’t Updated your shipping info for AirPods. No need to worry.
When obsessively checking my Apple card earlier to see if the charge my 16 Pro 256 Desert Titanium had posted yet, I noticed the balance was higher than I thought it should be. I got double charged for the Airpods Pro 2 I'd ordered earlier this week!! Called to get it straightened out and asked the rep how crazy it was there. She said it had been earlier today, but was calming down now. I did get right through.
I got a tracking number for my store pickup: 092020241000AMCT. /s

AirPods are most likely shipping from the US and will probably ship out next week.
I’m considering the same, still leaning to going ahead w 16pm but might rough it out one more year w 15p.
oh right, to clarify i opted for store pickup so i would just not pick it up effectively releasing it back into its natural retail habitat where it will mix with other retail units and ultimately find a home in the pockets of another lucky iPhone early adopter. will it always wonder about me, its original owner? perhaps. but these are the sorrows and textures that give life meaning.
One year mine didn't arrive until almost 10pm. Technically still on launch day, but I was ready for bed by that point.
Having it shipped to work so the truck is earlier than the home deliveries. In 2020 my Xbox didn't show up until about 8PM though, so I've been there.
Me too as far as delivery late at night. I’ve got places I need to be so I’m hoping they will let me hold for pickup, but I’m guessing it’s going to be a long worrisome day not being home.
They charge my card in other stuff when I pick it up….. when we got hubby a new MacBook Air and ipad we picked up in store and once we picked up it charged the card
You can't it is too late. Here is the definition of Preparing to Ship:
Preparing to Ship - We’re completing some final details before we ship your order. As soon as it ships, we’ll email you the delivery information. At this point, you can no longer make changes to the order.
For others playing along your last change to cancel is at the Order in Progress - We have everything needed to complete your order. As soon as the item is ready, we’ll send you an update and prepare the shipment. You can still make changes to the order at this point.

That is the one good thing with getting stuck with store pick up…. Ups has been coming later and later!
I did the same. I don’t have time to take off to wait for a signature. I just hope I’m not sitting at the office until 10pm.
Last year was the last time you could have it held at the UPS CC for pickup. It just caused to many issues for Apple and UPS. You should still be able to redirect it in the UPS My Choices for a small fee to a UPS Retail store location. Just make sure you check their hours.

In the past, redirecting it to a local UPS store has always added an extra day to the delivery process. So, instead of a Friday delivery, it will be at least a Saturday pickup.
My two orders Preparing to ship like y'all. Hope to get some MyChoice activity this weekend.
Pre Order made this year very simple. 16Pro, 256gig in Black Titanium. However at 500A was still waiting to be let in. 502 and it was pretty smooth. Using Apple Card to get 3% back, paid in full for unlocked, and pick up at brand new Apple Store in Torrance on the 20th. This eliminates the when will UPS arrive and what if i’m not there to sign.
Since Costco doesn’t have VZW anymore- no more discounts and the new VZW “deal”- even though you would get potential get $1000 in credits spread over 36 months (last 2 iphone cycles I believe) vs previously 24 months deals AND you need to upgrade to their highest new, unlimited Ultimate plan, I decided to sell my old 13 Pro to itsworthmore for $410 straight up and keep my existing plan.
I upgrade annually and rotate last years iPhone between my parents and take their old one for trade in or sale. Since you have to pay off remaining balances before VZW will let you do a VZW upgrade, I would end up losing at least 12 months of credit so probably better to just sell and take $ upfront and not have to pay more for their new, more expensive plans.
If you get an unlocked iPhone from Apple, wonder if I can skip the VZW $35 activation fee- ridiculous as it is.
