And it will be again this year. @Laryl has places to go and does not want around for a late UPS delivery on Friday at some random time...In the past, redirecting it to a local UPS store has always added an extra day to the delivery process. So, instead of a Friday delivery, it will be at least a Saturday pickup.
Me too as far as delivery late at night. I’ve got places I need to be so I’m hoping they will let me hold for pickup, but I’m guessing it’s going to be a long worrisome day not being home.
Two of mine arrived today from the Apple Distribution Center (DC) in Lebanon. It has shipped! (The case that is)
Yeah, I stopped telling them about it. Kill joys 😂 I just enjoy with my friends here: I love reconnecting with the crew here.It is! My friends and family think I'm crazy to get so excited about this. So much eye rolling, when I try to explain about Apple Order Day.![]()
Check the weight. it's less than 36 grams then it's the watch.I just received a UPd tracking number but I think it’s my Series 10 watch?
Congratulations Apple….you have greatly improved the pre-order process v.s getting up at 1am years ago. Earlier in the week selected the iPhone 16 Pro Max, saved for order day. 6 minuets after Apple Store came online clicked on my saved pre-order selection and completed the order. Wow…that’s the way to do business
1 lb … ship from Clayton, IN? Hmmm maybe that’s my trade in kit? 😂Check the weight. it's less than 36 grams then it's the watch.
Well, to be fair, that's only because this year's iPhone is underwhelming. Don't get me wrong, - I ordered one, like I always do, because I'm a sheep, but... I can't see people losing their minds to order this year.Congratulations Apple….you have greatly improved the pre-order process v.s getting up at 1am years ago. in the beginning i did UPS drop off at my house but i started doing ISPU because I was able to get 8 am pickup easier then doing the ups pick up and having to call and do all that. Also they have separate lines for pick up at least at my store there is not many slots giving between 8-10 so im in and out within 10 minutes. For those choosing to go to the store to pick it up, why? Some reasons I can think of include:
What else is there?
- You don't work from home and don't want to risk a package coming when you're not home to sign for it
- You don't want it to or can't have it come to work for some reason
- You want the comfort of having a specific time (at the store) when you can get your phone
- You, for some reason, have to have it at the absolutely earliest possible second on Friday, and the store pickup accomplishes that
- You don't want to risk getting a damaged phone at home and then having to deal with that headache
- You don't want your wife/husband/girlfriend/mistress/dog or other cohabitant to know
- You need the store's help in transferring to a new phone
- You're trading in and need to go to the store to most easily accomplish that process, or simply don't want to put your current phone in the mail (FedEx, etc.), given some of the horror stories that are out there
- You want to be part of the "launch day social experience" at an Apple Store
I'm just wondering what would incentivize people enough to endure the absolute zoo of being at an Apple Store on a launch day.
Full disclosure: mine are being delivered at home because there is no way I want to endure the zoo experience, plus I have no reason to avoid the extreme convenience of home delivery.

Same, love the all black accessories…and so it begins again. The annual pre-order at 5:00 AM (Pacific time) and tracking our new toy(s).
In addition to this phone, I am upgrading my Apple Watch Series 4 to the Ultra 2 (black titanium).

I've had the same positive experiences you've had with delivery except they were all ISPU. They've refined the process so you have check-in windows that you absolutely have to stick to or they won't see you (earlier the better), and things run even smoother when you get fast reps who like their jobs. I haven't had an ISPU that went longer than 20 mins in over 6 years. For those choosing to go to the store to pick it up, why?
That's nice enjoy your purchase but I was replying to @ck713 concerning a UPS tracking number from today.I ordered on announcement day and received it on Tuesday![]()
