6+ owner here and loving it. In fact, it's brought me back into the iOS fold...at least until my Nexus 6 arrives in a couple of weeks. If anything, the 6+ has just conditioned me for the size of the Nexus 6. I won't be as shocked by the size now that I've been using the 6+ for a few weeks.

Regarding Reachability...I find it VERY useful. I have what I would consider average hands (I'm 6' tall) and I do have trouble reaching the status bar to swipe down for Notification Center. However, if you double tap for Reachability, you can then swipe down on the "empty" part of the top half of the screen and down comes Notification Center. That makes it so much more useful for me.

The 6+ seemed gigantic for the first couple of days, but after that, I can't imagine using anything smaller (though the 6 would be fine as well). It now seems normal to me, and I've owned the Note 2 and 3 in that past, so big phones aren't new to me.

The only thing I wish Apple would do is offer a "dual pane" mode for the 6+, to take advantage of the larger screen and differentiate it from the 6.

choice matters...

One size doesn't fit all, so in the end I think it's great that there's a little more choice now available with respect to iPhone display sizes. :apple:

Unfortunately (for me) even the 6 is a two handed phone. The double home tap function to pull down the display is nothing more than a workaround. After a few months with the phone I am all but certain that Jobs was right about the size of the original phone. I have owned every iteration of the phone and to this day I still prefer the feel and heft of the first edge iphone. If Apple continue to offer improvements in the smaller form factor I'm pretty sure I'm headed back that way, be it a 5C or what have you.

Still think the wait times for the iPhone 6+ vs the iPhone 6 plays a huge part in differences in the numbers. Why wait 3 - 4 weeks for the plus when you can have the iPhone 6 immediately?

Overtime they should even up once the supply of iPhone 6+ increases.

Exactly! The Plus is CONSTANTLY out of stock, so of course it's numbers are lower than the 6. Heck I almost just got a 6 as the wait for the Plus was 2 months! (Thankfully it was delivered 4 weeks after ordering, and not the 8 weeks predicted)

Oh, and I LOVE the plus. It's barely bigger for me than the 6, and given my large hands it's absolutely so comfortable to use! I would never get a screen smaller than a 5.5" from now on...

Where is this magical place that I can get my iPhone 6 immediately?

Delaware. The Christiana Mall Apple store has had most 6 models in stock daily since launch. Got my AT&T 64GB on day 9, walked in, waited about five minutes, then walked out with it in hand. They have had trouble keeping the T-Mobile models, but all the others have been easy to get all along.

i'm actually enjoying my 6. it's perfect for me. the 6+ is too big. with that being said, my buddy who is a big android guy is now switching over to the 6+ soon.

25% of buyers going for the Plus is still significant. That's a win for Apple, as those are customers that may have went elsewhere for a large form-factor phone.

Indeed it is, but I still find it laughable that some delusional people here genuinely thought that the 6 Plus would by a huge margin, be the most popular model.

unless their next 5.5 iPhone gets actual FEATURES that take advantage of a bigger screen i dont see the reason to use anything more than 4.7 tbh. i am already annoyed that my iPhone 6 is bigger than my old nexus 4 with the same screen size. could have fit a 5.0 screen in there almost

You honestly believe they would be 50/50 if the supply was the same? Given how the 4, 4S, 5, 5S have all been the single best selling models since they came out during their time, all being under 4 or 4 inches, I don't really see how people can assume something like that.

I love my 6+. I have small hands and have no problems typing or reaching any part of the screen. People are weird. I think it's the perfect size. I can't go back to smaller phones.

The 6+ is just too big for me. Apple went for 4.7" and 5.5", but something roughly in the middle at 5" would have been just perfect IMO.

The iPhone 6 IS a two-handed phone. Soooooo inconvenient compared to my 4. Wish Apple didn't force us into this phablet world.

They didn't force you to upgrade your phone or your iOS. You can still buy the 5c can't you?

Let's flip this around. What if the 6 is selling so well that they always make sure to increase supply for it and keep a ratio of 3:1 manufacturing-wise?

I have the iPhone 6+ .... if the iPhone 6 would have had the same battery time and some camera optics, I would have gone with the iPhone 6 instead of the 6+ ... however, now after having it used for a longer time, I don't think I will go back to the smaller screen and stick with the bigger one for future releases. At first I didn't like the idea of the bigger screen, now I love it. Also, I am no longer using my iPad mini (1st gen) as much as I used to)

Or people ditching their iPad minis for the plus which means people consolidating devices which is good for those that do but may not be great for iPad sales.

Apple has shown several times that they're not afraid of cannibalizing their own product lines. The iPad ate into Mac sales, and the iPhone all but killed the iPod. And as popular as the iPad is, it still pales in comparison to the iPhone. So if the iPhone 6 Plus pulls a few people away from buying an iPad Mini, it's no sweat off Apple's back.

A lot of smart people have pointed to the picture that Apple showed at the iPad event--the one showing all of their product lines--and said that Apple's strategy isn't that you own one of everything, but that there's at least one product in their line up for everyone. From the Apple Watch up to the Mac, Apple has a competitive product in their lineup that can fit at least one of your computing needs.

Want just a phone? Apple will sell you a phone.
Want a watch, phone & laptop? Apple has all 3.
Watch, phone, tablet & desktop computer? Absolutely.

Oh, yeah, by the way, they also have a huge ecosystem behind their products that enables you to do some amazing things. Though it's not perfect, it's getting better.

The ratio is of 3 to 1 is just in the US. Factor in China and the rest of Asia I would bet the demand will be closer to 60:40 and perhaps 50:50 after the 1st of the year.

For your baby hands, it probably is. I have a 6+ and I can handle it one-handed quite well.

And Apple didn't force anything on you. I don't think Apple came knocking on your door and snatched your 4 away.

I've not yet understood the appeal to anything bigger than the 6...for a phone, it's a phone for kcuf's sake! I have an iPad Mini for when I want a larger screen.

I have an iPad mini too, for when I want a larger screen... laying on a couch.

I (and millions of others) also want a decent sized screen on a device that we can pocket.

That's because the "phone" we carry is not just a phone. It's "an iPod, a Phone, and an Internet Communicator", as Jobs said. (Jobs refused at first to call it a mobile computer, but that's also what it is, perhaps even more than the others at times.)
