As an owner of an iPhone 6, I prefer that over the 6+ for one reason: it's easier to stick in your pocket, even with the fairly thick Incipio DualPro case I use. I didn't like the 6+ because its physical size made it almost as unwieldy to hold as the Samsung Galaxy Note 3.

The iPhone 6 IS a two-handed phone. Soooooo inconvenient compared to my 4. Wish Apple didn't force us into this phablet world.

I love my 6 and have wanted a bigger screen for some time, but I think apple should be doing something to make people like you happy besides just offering last years model at a discount. They have 3 sizes of MacBook. Why not 3 sizes for iPhone? 4 inch, 4.7 and 5.5. That would take care of just about everybody.

You could say "but that's too many iPhones when looking at how hey still sell the 5,5c and 5s". I would say drop all those old models altogether. If people want an old one, they can buy one off craigslist for even cheaper. Gives us 3 sizes of iphone and keep it simple

I dont think i have seen a ip6 or ip6+ in the wild yet myself. However, I dont get out very much :)

You have self explained ;)

I have seen the plus on the wild just hours after it was launched and to be honest I don't go out much either :) I have settled for 6 however. Plus is nice device but to big for my pockets.

eh thats because the wait for the 6+ is out of this world. There was a guy on day 1, morning 1 saying all along that he wanted the 6+ but when the store finally opened and they shouted that no 6+'s were available but the 6s were, he hopped right on board and got the 6. He represents a good number of 6 holders.

Not true numbers.

I too think the low availability of the 6 Plus is skewing these numbers. Just look even on YouTube in reviews of the iPhone 6, many of them mention "I wanted the 6 Plus but they were out of it, so I just got the 6".

I just want an iPhone, not an iPad-phone.

Here is a iphone 6 plus on top of a iPad mini. The mini is still much bigger.

It's obviously not the same size, but moving in that direction. I think the larger phone appeals to people who intend to use it the same way they would use an iPad.

I want an iPhone that is a phone first and pocket computer second, not a (larger than my) pocket computer that has phone capability.

Since Apple can't really go back to smaller screens for the iPhone, we can only hope that they come up with narrower bezels to make fit the 4.7 inch screen on smaller form factor phones.

The only way the bezels on the iPhone can get smaller is if they remove the home button. I think they were experimenting with this by including gestures into iOS. But now with the introduction of TouchID, I don't seem them doing this any time soon.

Still think the wait times for the iPhone 6+ vs the iPhone 6 plays a huge part in differences in the numbers. Why wait 3 - 4 weeks for the plus when you can have the iPhone 6 immediately?

Overtime they should even up once the supply of iPhone 6+ increases.

I think this is the silliest & weakest theory I've ever heard.

About seven months into an iPhone cycle sales dip, as people are willing to wait the few extra months for the new phone. The numbers bear this out... year after year after year after year.
But your theory is that people simply cannot wait a few weeks for the phone of their choice?? Hmmm.... I don't buy it. Not even a little bit.

I have no regrets for going with the 6+. Before I got it, I went into various stores and held similar-sized phones from other manufacturers. By the time mine arrived, it already felt natural in my hand.
That is a smart move.

Some of my friends who did not get plus are now regretting it. One guys gave his six to his kid and got himself a plus. It surely does not feel too big in the pocket. I got six but sometime (only sometimes) think that I should have gone for a plus.

Why not?

Lots of people were not sure about how the 6 or plus would feel in there hands. Let alone if they wanted the 6 or the plus, but once they ran out of the plus size the only choice was the iPhone 6 which is still bigger the 5/5s.

Having bought both the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus (my 6 delivered first before my 6 Plus), I now feel that the 6 seems cramped compared to my 6 Plus, and my 5 feels even more cramped.

My first reaction when I got the 6 Plus was whoa, it's so friggin huge.

But after a few days of usage, the 6 Plus feels nice in my hand and doesn't seem as big anymore.

unless their next 5.5 iPhone gets actual FEATURES that take advantage of a bigger screen i dont see the reason to use anything more than 4.7 tbh. i am already annoyed that my iPhone 6 is bigger than my old nexus 4 with the same screen size. could have fit a 5.0 screen in there almost

That "actual" feature, if you think outside the box, or in this case, the screen, certainly exists and is called "a gigantic battery that lasts for much longer than models with a smaller screen."

I'm loving the battery life on my 6+ which is once of the main reasons I bought it along with actually wanting a bigger screen since the screen size on the 6 is not much larger than a 5, especially in width.

Personally, I think the size of the 6 is perfect. However , after having the 6 for a good while, I ended up exchanging it for a plus. For the time being I don't have a MacBook Pro anymore, and I figured if I got a 6 plus then I wouldn't need to buy an iPhone and iPad. There are still benefits of owning a plus like better battery life, higher res screen, better camera etc. I still miss the size of my 6 but I think after a few weeks I'll get used to the size of the plus. I think if you think of it as a mini mini iPad and less like a giant iPhone then it might seem slightly less intimidating. But after owning both phones, I'd say that the 6 will probably be the one most people will end up going with.

Need to update my phone soon and struggling to choose between the 6 and the +.

See, the + is, in use, the best - like a little iPad. And 90% of the time the size can be accommodated without hassle. It's how annoying the other 10% of the time will be that's the question.

Surprise, surprise; Uncle Steve was right, as usual, when he said consumers wouldn't want a large phone that's not ergonomically proportioned.
