U.S. iPhone Users to Receive Emergency Test Alert Today

So I updated my phone to 17.0.3 just prior to the national alert going out. I hadn’t yet swiped up on the screen you get when the phone updates iOS versions. When the national alert came, my phone alerted - but couldn’t be unlocked and crashed. Now it’s going through “Attempting data recovery”.

I also acknowledged the alert by opening my phone(s).

Mine just happened. I'm pretty impressed actually, my watch & phone both sounded very loudly and vibrated more intensely than I've ever felt before. In an emergency situation, this would be very effective. No way you could sleep through or otherwise miss that.

Hmmmm ... now I realize I did not get an alert on my Apple Watch Ultra. 🤔

Mine got done just before! I didn’t get the tone, as it was finishing the reboot, but the notification was there.

I hope yours gets resolved!!!

I did this exact same thing but thankfully it finished update like 5 min before it came through.
 
You know how the news commentators always have their cell phone with them, I wonder how many went off live on national television o_O
 
Also got mine at 2:18. They need to wind their timepieces
Even though I warned my wife, she nearly jumped out of her chair. LOL
 
I got two one in Spanish and English. No more better come. EAS is a useless stupid system. I wonder how many unaware people are going to get there ears hurt while using airpods or earbuds. Cars are going to get into accidents just for a useless test that anyone can find out an appending disaster already through social media.
