Just got a nearly maxxed out 14" approved from work! Now the long wait for IT to order and provision it...

Apologies for what is possibly a stupid question, but suppose I have an estimated delivery 19th-27th November -- is there realistically much chance of that getting moved forward? I see people in this thread and others hoping to get theirs early but I don't know if it's wishful thinking or if that's actually a realistic possibility based on previous launches.

Nope, the MacBooks are already near your home into apple logistics places.

They will ship Monday to arrive on Tuesday (like they do with the iPhones)

I agree. Those scheduled for delivery on Tuesday are likely to be in the UK already and will ship on Monday (probably from Hinckley). Here’s hoping for DPD!

Has anyone had experience cancelling orders before their cards were charged ? I'm going for a standard config so I'm hoping they have a few in stock in my local store. Cant be waiting till mid Nov

Yes, cancellation is straightforward as long as you do it before it moves from ‘processing’ to ‘preparing to ship’. Once it goes to the latter you cannot cancel (but can send it back).

If you look at the order status page there should be a "cancel items" link. If that doesn't work or isn't there, you can chat to an advisor who will cancel it if they can, depending on where it is in the process.

or keep the order up your sleeve in case you can't find one in store. Cancel once you do?

Anyone know of any sleeve recommendations that will fit the new 16-inch? Would preferably have one by delivery day, if there are any out yet.

That additional inch of screen, similar specs available and that additional weight on the 16” might push more to the 14”.

Indeed. The 16” order I originally placed was cancelled in favour of a 14”.

3.5lb vs 4.7lb. That’s a fairly big difference, especially when my existing 15” feels quick bulky at times coming in at 4.0lb.

I figured I’m only losing a bit of screen real estate (but have an external monitor anyway) and some battery life. But other than that, the specs are identical. I’m gaining more in portability than I feel I’m losing.

I'm working from home Monday and Wednesday, but in the office on Tuesday Do they ever arrive a day early? ?

Only known it once with Apple - got my original iPad a day early! Nothing before or since.

Annoyingly The virgin Atlantic card I use (to earn miles) doesn’t provide notifications when purchases are made!

Seeing if apple will let my change it to another card seeing that order is still processing!

Good spot, had checked there yesterday and they didn't have anything listed so was holding out for a John Lewis order. Have just put an order in for a new 14, including 7% discount and 2 year warranty.

Would love an ultra widescreen with thunderbolt support and the Samsung cj791 ticked nearly all those boxes apart from the significant curve on it. Need something less imposing which lets me to side by side with two inputs together.

I have the Samsung monitor and its amazing. It charges my mac and the curve is perfect. I thought same as you when buying it, but have had no regrets.

Any pics of it on the desk. Keen on seeing how deep it is with its 1500R curve.

I can’t find anything that gives me two TB3 inputs and is ultra wide.

Interestingly the model is not longer available direct from Samsung… did ask if it was discontinued or being replaced but they didn’t have a clue

Many thanks. I've now one on order via Apple Store which is stuck at 'processing' with delivery on 9th November and have just signed up with Costco to order the same but at cheaper price, showing up as pending on CC and stating delivery after 26th October.

So, having now ordered both a chicken and an egg - I'll let you know

Thats a 16inch MacBook Pro Max with 32 core GPU nearly £300 cheaper than the Apple store and available in five days? Surely not? Am I missing something.
