Which Model are you getting?

I would’ve gone for a 16” but in all honesty it’s too big and heavy for me. I’ve got a MacBook Pro from work that I haven’t even used to work from home. It weights a ton and even tho it’s a nice big screen, it’s just too big so settled on a 13”. Upgrading to a 14” with a much more powerful processer, graphics etc is gonna feel so good. My current MBP has only 128gb storage… so I’m getting storage is full messages every day. That 1TB hard drive is gonna be legendary.

Same here. The only slight concern I have about the 14" is the battery life but if its somewhere between the old intels and the M1 Macbook Pro its replacing I will be perfectly happy.

The more I read of the 2022 MacBook Air, the more I think it’s the model most users need, rather than the new pros
Most people would be 100% satisfied with the M1 macbook pro/air.

I have zero complaints apart from the lack of dual monitor support but I wager that isn't an issue for a lot of people.

It should probably be sufficient spec-wise for me, yes. But I'm not a fan of the pastel colours on the 24" iMac, so if they take that design to the MBA, no thanks. I'm actually a big fan of what I've seen so far of the MBP design. A bit more chunky - looks retro, but it's actually still very slim. Black keyboard - again, very retro, like several 1980s home computers. Notch - moves menu and clock upward, keeping the 16:10 for content only. If it's as good in person as on the photos (and it's usually better), then I'm going to love it to bits.

I got it from Apple with student discount… if you want to get AppleCare+ or other accessories as obv these will be discounted from Apple too.
They don’t discount AppleCare+ like they used to. In the old days they virtually gave it away to students. Now, on an MBP 14 it’s only £30 off the full price of £249.

Totally agree, the pro for me ticks many boxes and I’ve been waiting a long old time for these to land.

It’s more the mass market machine, the air, new colour options, m2 (potentially) and mini led all in that slim form factor will become a massive hit.

I’ve gone for the max but as much as I kid myself, the baseline pro would have probably been more that sufficient for me. But that comes with being on this place and adopting early!

Still processing?

Will have to keep an eye on on yours to shift before mine gets a chance!

Yep, still processing.
Hoping for some movement early next week, and they hit the start of the timeframe (Friday 29th) so I can have a good play over the weekend!

On the US thread some who have a BTO with 3-8th dates have seen things move to preparing for shipping..
Hopefully something on this side of the pond soon too

Yeah, I've got a base 14" Pro because I need to replace my 2012 non-Retina 15 inch Pro ASAP, but I wouldn't be entirely surprised if I downgrade to the new Air next year. I almost got an Air this year but the combination of a larger screen, MagSafe + other ports, 120hz mini-LED, led me to think I could justify the extra £500 for the Pro. If the new Air has MagSafe and mini-LED, and retains the superior battery life and form factor, it becomes a much harder decision. Though I really wish they'd release a 15" Air because I'm not sure I can ever get used to a 13" screen.

EDUstore now has the base spec @ £1571 + 4 yr warranty - https://www.theedustore.co.uk/mac/m...16gb-ram-512gb-ssd-space-grey-4-year-warranty

Has anyone ordered from them before? The reviews seem a bit mixed.
Am thinking about it too. Reviews are mixed, and it seems sensible to wait until they actually have stock before ordering, as you don't seem to be able to cancel online, and customer service is slow. Does anyone have recent experience on their returns policy, is it as good as Apple's (14 day, even if opened and tested)?

Still processing mine too, although it's a week later than you I think! I'm hoping things go better than they expect and it's closer to the start of the time frame.

I've been tasked with finding one of these for my brother now! I see Currys are taking orders, but John Lewis aren't yet and Amazon is just "pre-order" so I'm guessing none of these retailers actually know how much stock they'll have for day one yet.

Boom!! (14" Max/32GB/1TB)

I was totally on the fence about which one to order but that Costco deal tipped me over the edge. £300 saving on a brand new machine was too hard to resist.

I had fully intended waiting for the reviews to drop on Monday before trying to get an instore pick up on Tuesday.

The 16” Pro Max 10/32/32/1TB will be a replacement for my faithful Mid 2015 MBP which is currently at the Apple store getting its swollen batteries replaced.
