So... according to my wife, I'm the only person who can turn a family vacation to Norfolk into an expensive apple buying trip ??‍♂️

I lived in a block in 2012 on the top floor (21st) and at the time I was a cop. I remember speaking to a firefighter at a job once and we got chatting about where I lived. His advice was move out!! and until you move out if there's ever any hint of a fire or alarm get out immediately. always stuck with me that. Even more so since Grenfell ?

It is. Converted mill. 2 fire engines been and gone. Property managers having a ‘mare. Might just go and sit on the pavement and wait for my AirPods

Cancelled my order for a MAX 14” model and will, instead, be picking up a 14” high end Pro later today.
I figured that Pro—>Max is not worth it just for the GPU upgrade. I don’t need 32GB of RAM anyway.

Now I just need to sell my 2021 12.9“ maxed out iPad Pro at the expense of the 11” model and I am all set.

Was quite late the chance to book an hour slot (only gave me options between from 1pm and 4pm) so I left it and thought I’d get my laptop later than everyone else, but I’ve just woken up minutes ago to a text telling me it’s arriving in 13 mins at the minimum! :D What a way to start the day

I was the same, but my wife had a half five alarm set for her placement so was awake by the time they went live.

I also went for a 16” as I’m not getting any younger so that big screen is great, but also because I need to run VMs and simulate routers so more memory and CPU cores are a good thing.

Just ordered mine for pick up today at Apple in Bristol. Seems a better approach than waiting a month for delivery.

Stock configuration 14 inch 10/16 with 16GB RAM and 1TB SSD. Looking forward to setting it up and trying it out.

I didn‘t do the Apple trade in, they offered a paltry £700 for my current MBP (2019 16-inch i9 2.3GHz, 32GB RAM, 1TB SSD). I’ll either sell that or hand it to the wife/kids. Its a fine laptop just a bit noisy connected to a monitor. And it’s also taught me to go for base models for my usage rather than over spec it this time.
 
Good news people, more BTO's shipping out today for delivery this week!

My 14" 10/16 32GB, 512GB is on my UPS app for delivery Friday. Original Estimate was 8th-11th November.

Shame it wasn't DHL or DPD as I'm at work on Friday and both DPD and DHL are on my industrial estate, but no UPS.

Once Iget the new one set up I will be taking the old one to CEX, worth a look mate

Cancelled my Amazon order and went instead for Apple in-store pick-up today (16" space grey Max/32GB/1TB). After doing that pick-up for my local store changed to "unavailable".

Maybe mine was the last one? (Obviously they'll replenish soon.)
