Got mine delivered just before 10, but as others have mentioned, UPS tracking when in the UK very underwhelming… didn’t even get a “Out for delivery”, arrived before the actual delivery window (mother-in-law still hadn’t arrived), and they just left it on my porch, no signature…
At least it’s home, and can’t wait to have a good play with it later on!! Which should have happened Friday…![]()
That looks very smart, made a note to check back with them on Black Friday.
You need to set your clock back 😏mine has arrived! before 12:45 too! not off to play just yet thou, have a million and one conference calls today![]()
yeah but was your package sitting at your nearest depot?Got mine delivered just before 10, but as others have mentioned, UPS tracking when in the UK very underwhelming… didn’t even get a “Out for delivery”, arrived before the actual delivery window (mother-in-law still hadn’t arrived), and they just left it on my porch, no signature…

lets see if this sheds any more lightI’ve got 1TB on both the pro and max.
It’s down to ram now 16 vs 32
I don’t think I’ll be pushing the gpu with 16 cores so not too worried.
I watched this last night. long and short of it, Performance impact between 16 and 32gb machines is minimal (a matter of seconds), however swap is used on a 16Gb during heavy memory use such as lightroom. I can live with that, especially when the performance impact is tiny!lets see if this sheds any more light
wow that 16GB took it all on the chin without flinching! these fast SSDs make read/writes for swap barely noticeable!I watched this last night. long and short of it, Performance impact between 16 and 32gb machines is minimal (a matter of seconds), however swap is used on a 16Gb during heavy memory use such as lightroom. same here! much better to invest that into an updated SSD if having the 512GBWow, that's incredible. I wouldn't even know how to chuck that much work at the 32gb to test it - that's absolutely sealed it for me. 32gb is a waste of £400 for me without a doubt!
LMAO mine is stuck in a depot 3 hrs away from me and nothing has updated. i hope this is the same for meAs ups is beyond useless, I texted apple, very nice customer service on their part. They tracked my parcel calling ups, and ups told them it’s at the nearest depot and will be delivered today (while tracking still showing stuck in Castle Donington, for 80h…), they also gave precisions, informing that it’s because of a flight delay between the custom depot and the closest depot. A flight delay between Donington and Croydon?!? 😂
No sure any of it is true now 😄
clearly someone not in the uk! it will be on a truck! As ups is beyond useless, I texted apple, very nice customer service on their part. Exactly what I've done. Ordered the 10/16/16/1tb at Costco - it's online-only, so will mean waiting a bit longer, but totally worth it.same here! much better to invest that into an updated SSD if having the 512GB
Agree with everything you've said. The build quality is probably my favourite thing after the performance. It just feels far sturdier and ready to do work than the previous generation.
One setting I've changed related to the notch which I really recommend if you ever use apps in fullscreen is the attached screenshot. Basically I love how the menu bar at the top is pure black so the notch is hidden, but by default, the menu bar disappears unless you mouse over it. Unchecking this settings keeps it shown all the time. Looks great imo.
can't believe you've not already upgraded your monitor!Exactly what I've done. Ordered the 10/16/16/1tb at Costco - it's online-only, so will mean waiting a bit longer, but totally worth it.
Of course, now I'm thinking about what I can spend the saving on because it's basically free money, isn't it?
Got the Lenovo T27p last year, so I’m set for that.can't believe you've not already upgraded your monitor!
