Despite singing DPD's praise since about page 20 of this thread, they're delivering my AirPods, but the tracking details I've been given are for a something delivered back in March 2021... excellent

Not to worry, it will update accordingly once it has had it's first scan, they are just reusing their tracking ID numbers... nothing unusual. DPD are dogs bollocks, in fact if I had a dog, I wouldn't mind naming him DPD!

Really enjoying the 24hrs battery life in the 14", obv the M1 plays a big part in that but also coming from the 16" beast which used it's battery in about 4hrs.
There's just a couple of apps I need optimised as Rosetta 2 is a thirsty bitch, mainly MS Teams.

TouchID seems to be working ok my 16". In fact, I'd say its the fastest sensor they've put in a Mac laptop for this although that might be me imagining things because its a new toy.

Laptop works well with the 5K LG 34" Ultrawide screen and Caldigit TS3+. I came so close to buying an XDR but even I couldn't make the "man maths" add up on that one.

I need to find a vertical stand for it when in clamshell mode as its on a riser just now which takes up a fair amount of space.

I swear I've heard crackle from the speakers on a few occasions, just for a second at a time, randomly, so need to keep an eye on that.

Some of the keys seem to be going a bit shiny already despite religiously never using the keyboard while eating or until I've washed my hands after eating.

Screen, speakers and battery life are all amazing.

I also wish Microsoft would get their act together with Office and Teams.

I've got a base 14" with 1TB of storage on order with an estimated delivery of the 30th Nov to the 7th Dec. The order still says processing items but the pending transaction has disappeared from my bank and the money has just gone back into available funds.
Has anyone else had this happen maybe before the order has moved to preparing to ship or is my order potentially going to pot?

No it’s just the pre auth dropping off. Happened with my launch day BTO and I didn’t see a full charge reappear until a good few days after it had shipped!

I don’t think it’s an indication of pfs to be honest.

I am hoping my 8-15 dec order gets pulled forward

Look at other thread, it looks like US and Canada order got prioritised? Has anyone (from the UK) got shipped early last few days? Plus it looks like restock hasn't happened for quite a few days in the UK as well.

For those looking for the 16” 16gb/1tb model, I placed an order on Amazon today thinking it would be a few weeks until I got a ship date, but a few hours later I received an email saying it would arrive on Saturday! So they must be getting stock in.

My 16"/MAX/1TB still hasn't budged off processing despite having a 9-16 Nov window. Are there any hallmark signs that US has with UPS MyChoice or do you only get notifications once it gets to Germany/UK? I seem to remember my XDR start tracking from Germany when it was delivered last year.

Yup. Got this sleeve for mine

yeah I'm going down the Harber route too I think.. I'm looking at the non-zip version of the sleeve..

I've got the apple version for my old 13" and that was eye waveringly expensive for what it was. only thing going for it was the tight fit. I like the blue leather finish

found a review here:

the other option I have is from walnut https://www.woolnut.com/macbook-leather-sleeve/ though the new Mac versions are on pre-order currently.

advantage for this over the harber is that its slides in from the side as such so leaves the ability to access charing ports

Already have the Harber. It is excellent- you can slightly change the position of the zipped bits so you don't scratch the laptop when taking it in and out of the sleeve.
