You can also get them to refund it to a gift card so you can then use it again without the faff of waiting for the refund on the card. They have a limit of £2000 per card so when I returned MacBook #2 last week they split it over 2 cards!

oooh really.....

Mind you thinking about it the only way to reserve is to pay for the bloody thing anyway  is I guess its a moot point unless I took a chance and walked into store.

Also the Max in stock at MK has gone.

yep exactly.. one good thing with apple it seems is that the store stock is pretty accurate online.

Apple would make two completely separate transactions unfortunately. They would not allow you just to pay the difference.

First of all they would take back the return and refund your payment card. From my recent experience (last week) the money would show as credited to your account within 2 to 3 days.

Secondly they would sell you the laptop that you want to buy and charge you the full amount there and then.
Wasn't a problem in my case- depends on the person you speak to, I suppose!

How do you mean? Didn't you have a problem of some sort with your original order, or have I got the wrong end of the stick?
Yes, correct. That was my first order, basically. When I had a simple change of mind as I initially went for the base spec :)

I believe you were very lucky then. I've never known Apple to simply swap out an opened and used laptop and only charge the difference in price rather than refund first and then separate purchase of the replacement.

Hasn’t shown up in DHL or UPS apps so I’m guessing it might be in the UK and shipping via DPD. Will keep you all posted.

My 9-16th M1 Max 16" had 2 failed card charges at 1am and 4am last night! Got on to chat this morning and resolved it... now we're Preparing to Ship
