Ordered mine last Thursday, along with a nano, printer and case. It has just been updated to 'prepared for shipment', but unfortunately it still says "Estimated Shipping: 7 business days, Estimated Delivery: 04 Nov, 2008 - 05 Nov, 2008". I want it to arrive now. This 6 year old Dell laptop is driving me mental.

you know the real kick in the teeth for all this is, that if you order from the UK online Apple Store today it is a 4 business day wait !

Hey everyone, first post! I thought I'd share my order status, it if helps any of you guys...

I ordered my 2.0 glassbook, with sleeve and ipod nano (all with university discount) at midday on Wednesday 15th. It shipped this Wednesday (the 22nd), and I received the confirmation email at about 11:00 on that morning. I don't have any tracking details yet, although I do have a new delivery estimate of October 31st (next Friday).

I read somewhere that if one just orders a pre-configured mac, with no accessories or anything else in the order, then UPS handles it all the way from China to your UK address (which might explain why some people already have UPS listed as a carrier).
However, if your mac is not the only thing in the order, then it's shipped to Apple's European distribution centre in the Netherlands, where it is re-packed with the rest of your order and handed over to the carrier that will deliver it to your UK address (and it is at that point that you are given a tracking number).

Apparently Apple UK's base in Cork might see the mac at some point as well, but this doesn't fit in to my delivery chain hypothesis so I'm ignoring it :p

I could be wrong about all of this, but it's just the information that I've managed to glean whilst waiting for my fabled macbook.

my status has now changed to:

Estimated Delivery Date (Subject to change) 30 Oct 2008 (Subject to change)
Current Delivery Status In Transit to Customer - Shipment on Schedule 27 Oct 2008

it says 30th oct est delivery and then 27th oct?? and on the email it still says 4-5th nov!! lol...

oh, and also on the left hand pane it says this:

Carrier Tracking Number
In transit to final destination - carrier details to be updated shortly.
Assigned Carrier
In transit to final destination - carrier details to be updated shortly.

i assume like the previous poster says, that will get updated when it reaches a central hub point or something...

Well my macbook which was ordered on the 14th and shipped 21st (27th estimate) - is now 'merged for transit GB' whatever that means.

Taking a stab in the dark its arrived in the distribution center in Holland, has been combined with my iPod and is now on its way to the UK.

Hopefully tomorrow i will receive a TNT tracking number and i'll be able to follow it to my door, which could either be the 27th (monday) or hopefully saturday :D:):D:apple::apple::apple::apple::D

I'm unable to see exactly which countries it has been in or will be in. How do i go about this?

Ordered basically a week ago tonight and yet still no updates. They seriously better not send it (if they ever do) on a round the world trip just to avoid giving me decent service on over £1000 worth of goods.

SODS LAW IN ACTION!
Just as I wrote that little bit of whining, they update me to "prepared for shipment".

So, 7 business days was 7 actual days.

Hey guys, my first post..

I ordered mine like 90 minutes after the keynote (14th).
I ordered a new macbook and took advantage of the Ipod nano offer..
My ipod nano has shipped with Syncreon Technology
My macbook has shipped with Kuhne & Nagel Spedition

However, on my macbook shipping status, it says the estimated delivery date is the 30th october (subject to change).. although theres another row which says 'Current Delivery status - In transit to customer Shipment on schedule - 27th October'. Does that mean ill get it on the 27th?

congrats dude!! you sometime next week, you should have it :)

yeah, business days was misleading info...

let the waiting continue :D

Thanks mate!

I'm only just down the road from you in Leicestershire, so we can have a little Macbook race.

This is a subject of a lot of confusion at the moment...

Ah ok, well as long as others are in the same boat as me..
A few days difference doesnt really matter anyway.
When did you order yours dave?

Dave4 and macmike - I ordered a printer at the same time as my 2.4 macbook 30 mins after keynote, and I have exactly the same dates. It has been shipped now for 2 days, according to Apple it is in transit to the UK, last spotted in Luxembourg.

About 9pm on October 14th. I have the same 30th or before estimate, but i also have something saying status of the 27th so pretty confusing. If i could find the phone number i'd give apple uk a call about it.

Somebody on the Apple discussions (http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1753092&tstart=0) said that its likely to be in the UK tomorrow and at my local delivery on Saturday so it may be worth giving them a call on saturday morning and if they have it you can pick it up before midday. The UK courier for Apple is TNT so it'd be your nearest TNT center. It might be worth it, depends how eager you are though.

UPS delivered my last Mac

I thought apple only used TNT, it may vary region to region. I've bought 3 mac's and several iPods. Its always been TNT where i live and i have heard this repeated elsewhere so just thought it fact but obviously not.

I may now call UPS Birmingham if TNT are no good : )

My delivery's having an "exception" according to UPS Ireland...of what sort I'm not sure! My package progress is showing "Package data progressed by brokerage. Waiting for clearance" at Apeldoorn, NL.

Meh. At least it's in Europe now...:)

How do you know this?/

Mine seems to be taking a somewhat unusual path to the UK:

Shanghai -> Netherlands -> Shanghai (again) -> South Korea

I think the tracking system is a bit screwed. I've got an order on the apple store(not the new macbook though:() , and its giving me tracking updates with tomorrows date on them, giving me delivery/tracking companies then not... and other strange things.

Agree! Am taking the status updates with a pinch of salt! *Think* the dates thing is to do with the time zone of the location being shown, e.g. Shangai is 7hrs (I think) ahead of UK...but mine is a bit weird even with the time zones sorted out...

WTF is going on?

My Macbook was "shipped" 3 days ago but I still don't have ANY tracking info. It's meeting up with a free printer somewhere - but THREE days??

AAArrrrgggghhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!
