lol..

from China, they make their may to Netherlands, and then on to the UK...

i think they will be using TNT in the UK for deliveries from China... i know the same happened with my iMac a few months ago...

Funny though isn't it, that they found stock for John Lewis, Mac Warehouse et al. - but not the loyal peeps who placed orders within minutes of announcement.

Amazon UK has some.

I guess it is because they KNOW some Apple loving nerd who is on their store immediately after the event is definatley going to get one come hell or high water. It is the undecided or impressionable person who might spot one in their local shop that Apple needs to convice to buy one.
It makes financial sense for them, but I still hate them for it.

If you order today the Apple UK online store is quoting 5 business until shipping it was 7 yesterday

My delivery date when I log in via the US store is the 24th:cool:

Are you in the UK? Mine says 27th now as well! I'd love it to come before the weekend though. :D:):D

I'm getting excited now, i even ordered my case today. Got the 13" Incase Neoprene sleeve which is same size as the whitebook but hopefully will do the job.

that's not fair!! it looks like the ireland warehouse has finally had a bit of stck then for the uk online store!!

mine status has finally changed to "prepared for shipment"!! woohoo!!! :D

to those who's macbooks are coming from china.. how long after "prepared for shipment" did it take to actually "ship"?

woohoo.. just got an email fro Apple saying my order has now been shipped!!!

just checked the apple us order tracking website and there's tracking info there already:

Shipped on: Oct 23, 2008 via Syncreon Technology
Estimated Delivery Date (Subject to change) 30 Oct 2008 (Subject to change)
Current Delivery Status Shipment dispatched 23 Oct 2008

plus there's also an 80xxxxx tracking number, which should be the TNT/UPS one...

Damn you!
If I remember rightly your original order estimated 8 days for shipping? Mine only suggested 7 and yet I am still not even in the "Prepared for shipping" phase!

still nothing been a week now :

Order date/time
Oct 16, 2008 at 07:56 PM GMT

Estimated Shipping: 7 business days
Estimated Delivery: 31 Oct, 2008 - 03 Nov, 2008

I am expecting an update in status today at some point.:D

It was very tempting to cancel the order and grab one from Amazon UK but I just could not risk the issues around the credit card reinbusment factor and seeing the Amazon stock depleat !

I thought this initially (that it was coming from Ireland), then realised that on my shipment status page it says "shipped Oct 23" when I view under "local to the event" time zone (there's a tab at the top where you can change time zone), but says "shipped Oct 22" when viewed under "GMT"- so I'm thinking it's shipping from China because they're 8hrs ahead or something like that.

My est. delivery date is now the 28th :)

Mine seems to be taking a somewhat unusual path to the UK:

Shanghai -> Netherlands -> Shanghai (again) -> South Korea

Still not shipped. Ordered on the 17th, so 7 normal days (not business) will be tomorrow, fingers crossed.

yes, it said "ships in 8 days".. today is the 8th day after placing my order (although the Apple CS lady I spoke on the phone with yesterday said it was 8 business days)..

wow.. maybe they found a few defects and decided to fix it ;) south korea? wtf??

the scenic route obviously :D

How do you know the path of it?

Go to the Order Status page on the apple website and click on Track This Shipment. On the page that opens there should be a Carrier Tracking Number and an Assigned Carrier (in my case UPS). I went on the UPS website and put the tracking number in and it gave me the list of where my macbook has been.

I don't get why some people who ordered after are getting it before...?
I ordered early in the morning on wednesday..still no change.
