Really wanted the Trail Loop and will probably pick it up at some point, but my word this Alpine loop is beautiful super comfortable and it offers a great fit too (this is size small, my wrists are 160mm).

I was very concerned about how big it would look and feel but I was immediately fine with it. Very pleased!

Looks very good, I'm thinking of picking up the same watch instead of waiting for the trail one, even though I wanted the trail one.
I have exactly 160mm wrists so I was wondering if I should go with small or medium. Is it still possible to to adjust the small strap larger or this is the max it can go?

Same. Even the Alpine loop but up a fight to come off. All the sport bands I tried have been fine though. This was also picked up by the Swedish guy on YT.

Ok. Must be a knack to getting them on/off. With link bracelet I felt like was going to damage either watch or strap it was that hard!

So……

Is anyone going to dare sleeping with the Ultra on their wrist toniget?

Id probably knock my other half out, my arms flap about during sleep 😂
I did mind you I was sleeping with my garmin on my wrist up until a week ago so it wasnt much different for me.
Can confirm other half is still alive, I haven’t knocked him out with a flailing arm - he’s probably more likely to do that to me but his instinct is a lot lighter 😀

I woke up today and was pleasantly surprised to see the battery only dropped 7% overnight.

That’s around 11 hours of sleep

11 hours! And I get excited if I hit 8! I didn’t note what mine was on but I put it on to fully charge at about 8am and it was on something 59%, so that was 30% down since I put it on about 21 hours ago (out of the box).
if I just have to charge it once a day rather than 2 or 3 im good with that.

In other news EEs tech support seem to be very busy, Im stuck on hold music. Perhaps if they automated this switchover better this might be less of a problem…

Had a bit of a nightmare with EE. they/I had selected the wrong price plan on a different account... managed to fix that side of it but now im getting "there's been an error downloading the esim".. so I presume im going to have to give EE the EID or something..?
Yep, I would go through technical support option rather than normal customer services.

I used this number from the EE forums. Got me straight through to a team who knew exactly what needed to be done to transfer my data plan to my new watch.

I purchased a Medium in the Alpine but thinking I should have went for Large.

Only reason is the metal clasp hitting the watch case when I take off the watch. I need the full open loop to get it off over my hand. I need to remove it slowly / carefully so not to completely hit the clasp off the top of the case.

I can see the case over time getting marked by constant hitting :(

Anyone else have a little trouble getting the loop off and over their hand?

Yeah exact same problem. I think all this talk of the watch being huge convinced me I needed the small strap. At the Apple Store later today to hopefully swap

Will they swap just the strap, or do they need to do a full return and swap everything?

I hope they can as I don't fancy having to set up and transfer the data plan again :(

But yeah the guy who made my appointment seemed to think just strap was possible

switching my cellular plan over with EE took a few attempts. Seems you can't do it yourself. Contacted first line who had a few goes at it and made me read out the really long EID number, then the watch app on the phone said it couldn't download the esim. Got patched through to second line who basically repeated the process (but without making me read out the EID again). Eventually it accepted it and all up and running now.
Mine was relatively painless. I’ve got to the stage for the 03 message, contacted EE. I gave them the new EID number and they transferred over the plan to the new watch. Asked me to reboot and 10 minutes later I was on cellular
