With my AW6 it was £359 repair cost and £4.49pm for AC+ and on the basis that I'd never needed it since my AW1 I didn't get it. There's a bit of a jump to £509 for the AWU, also because it is larger on the wrist the risk is a little different. I was looking at it on my cycle ride this morning and it feels a little more exposed!

If you go for the 2 year AC+ do you get the option to extend it at the end of the 2 yrs?
I don’t think so, which is why I go for the monthly option… can always ask an associate in chat though

I managed to find the answer buried down in the Apple website and it appears you can and with an AW it would continue on a monthly basis after the 2 years. But it could easily change!

Anyone else using Strava and finding the Ultra isn’t showing up - it’s still recording as if I’m using a series 6. Any ideas on how to fix it?

I noticed that this morning. I use a Garmin Edge and have my AW running as back up. This morning the version recorded on the AWU didn't register any device. I guess the app will be updated soon.

Just received my ultra. First time I’m upgrading from a previous watch (series 7)

Anything I should do? Should I restore from backup or better to do a clean install?

Those seem to be the two options. Thanks

Has anyone got used to the weight of the ultra on their wrist? I’ve upgraded from a 42mm S4 and I still can’t get used to the actual watch “wobbling” when just doing normal activities. I didn’t get on with the Midnight Ocean strap so I swapped it out with my Midnight Sport Loop.

Weight? There’s nothing to it, although TBF I generally wear larger watches.

No wobble here either. Pull the strap tighter perhaps?

Not something that I've noticed, but then I tend to wear my watches securely fastened rather than loose. All the 49mm straps have some stretch so even when securely fastened I find both the Alpine and the Ocean straps comfortable once you get them dialed in.

Maybe it’s the fact I’ve upgraded from the 42mm S4 which is more than half the weight of AWU. Might end buying some replica AWU straps from Ali Express as I’m definitely not parting ways with a £100 for one 😅

How many of you are planning on getting Apple Care for your AWU? Never had it myself but almost considering it for the AWU
It’s £4.99 a month

For piece of mind and unlimited accidental replacements (for a cost) it’s a no brainier for me personally. A definite purchase, but first need to check if Apple need to replace the whole pack for a Large strap.

Anyone fancy swapping their L Alpine Loop (Green) for my Midnight Ocean Band? If so, drop me a message via PM 👍🏽😊

Let us know about the band as I probably need to replace my small band for a medium. I don’t want to replace the watch as well as it’s all set up now.

It will be in a few weeks, I travel to Holland on Tuesday morning, then work for 2 weeks

Will be back to UK on the 12th when they said I could go in and swap (complete Watch for another Watch)

Ahh okay. I will probably try and swap out just the band if they let me. If not I may just sell the band and get the medium size.

Anyone had any luck with a delivery from EE?
Ordered 1pm 9/09, was told 23/9 delivery, but was then told maybe 26/9 and now have been told they have no idea.
Large Black Trail Loop is what I have ordered, but they appear to be saying its all variations that are low stock.

I ordered from EE. Black/Grey Trail loop. Was also told 23/9. Of course nothing arrived. Spoke to someone Friday who said they have no idea when they’re getting stock but that it isn’t coming from apple. My order is just open and it’s wait and see. She offered me to swap for a band they had in stock but the only had alpine green small and white ocean band. My wrist is just under 200mm so thought either would be too small. I may end up swapping to a large alpine if they get them before the trails. No communication from EE at all to say it wouldn’t arrive.

Watch just gone back on charge. Was charged to 100% yesterday at 8:30am.
Two walks of about half hour each recorded yesterday, 30 mins fitness+ recorded today, closed rings but with phone nearby. 33% left.
Tomorrow will be a better test (55ish min swim away from phone in a poor signal area, lots of work notifications), but I’m happy with 36 hours and still a third left!

Yep. Pretty much the same as me although I didn’t get the option to swap.
I only got the offer as I enquired about it after phoning to find where the order was. Annoyingly they’ve also credited my account with the money I paid for the Watch which I don’t want to happen.

My take on battery life having had the Ultra since Friday - It’s a vast improvement on my series 7, but not quite as good as expected.

Charged to 100% at 1538 on Friday, died Sunday at 2040 giving a total of 29 hours and 2 mins vs the “expected” 36.

During that time I had 1hr 30mins of GPS usage and just over an hour of constant heart rate monitoring on a static bike workout. It was connected via Bluetooth for the entire time, so the battery wasn’t drained due to cellular usage (which used to batter my series 7). Very minimal app usage but obviously 2 nights of sleep tracking (which I assume to be a fairly low power activity but 🤷🏽‍♂️).

Based on Apple’s claim of 36 hours including 8 hours of GPS + Cellular, I’d have expected to have got closer to their figure or possibly even over.

Will be interested to see how it levels out over a week or so, as I may have been inadvertently checking it more than usual etc.
