I have an Ultra with Black/Grey Trail Loop on order which was due for delivery 20th - 27th October but I have just had a message that the payment has processed and is now due for delivery 29th September to 3rd October 😀
Even better than Apple predicted, it’s at the delivery depot and is scheduled for delivery today. Only slight snag is I need to watch the DHL snake instead of DPD who I normally get and🤞my wife gets to the front door in time as I have to go to work today eek.

I’m surprised no one else with a trial loop on order has got an earlier delivery window, surely I can’t be the first in the UK can I …. Am hoping it’s not a mistake with an Alpine loop in the box or something.

Wow. You might be one of the first people to get a trail loop at this rate! I don’t think I’ve seen any photos of people with them yet.

What gets disabled in this again? If you start a workout does it track gps and HR as normal?
Just put mine back on to charge. Last charged 22:09 Sunday: 2x50 mins swims on cellular (and the pool is in a black hole signal-wise), 1 call on cellular on AirPods for about 30 mins, 1 walk of about 20 mins listening to Apple Music on cellular, usual teams notifications, texts, faceache messages, the latter two often replied to on the watch keyboard. All good so far!
This is what the Apple support pages say about the current low power mode (Watch OS9) but whether this is the same as the one that they state is due 'Fall 2022' not sure. Any one worked this out?

Low Power Mode turns off these features

Low Power Mode affects these features

Workouts in Low Power Mode

When you use the Workout app in Low Power Mode, metrics such as heart rate and pace are still measured.

Re: being charged £5.49 forAppleCare+ on the AW Ultra, received a call back this morning to say they have corrected a back end systems issue, my original plan was cancelled, refund issued and I was able to take out a new plan this afternoon for £4.99 with no issues.

. . . . is anyone having buyers remorse yet?

Ok (hands up) I am 😱

I still have my Series 4 packed in it's box and it's served me extremely well, and I'm just thinking £849.....849...

Plenty of time still to ponder my thoughts :)

I am the complete opposite of having buyers remorse.
I absolutely love the ultra. The size is awesome, the screen is awesome, the battery life is awesome.
I came from a S4 SS and this is just a great upgrade, I'm more than happy with it.

Not me so far, while a lot of pre-launch reviews focused on comparing it with Garmins from a battery life perspective and existing AWs from a size perspective, etc... I'm finding that the AWU is so far measuring up for me. I like the size (but I'm used to Panerai watches which are relatively large). The screen brightness is great, especially outdoor bright situations. And the slighly larger screen allows me to upsize the text in compatable apps so I can read it easier. And >2 days battery lide for my usage pattern is more then enough. And while I don't plan to climb Everest I do spend a fair bit of time on the water (including the odd white water) and in the saddle so the fact that it's a bit more rugged is reassuring.

Yes, it's expensive, but I'm now thinking whether I trade in both my AW3 and AW7 to offset some of that. The AWU isn't meant to be a mainstream device so a lot comes down to individual use cases and likes I guess.

Good luck with your decision which ever way you jump;)

In the smoke today. Saw the ink leather loop was in stock in regents street. Not too far out of my to pop in on the way home. Oh dear me I’ve never seen so many people… I gave up (I need a person to put the sale through rather than being able to pay on the app if that’s still a thing) to get the EPP discount.
Couldn’t actually see an ultra on display - they had a Hermes though!

No buyers remorse here. I was afraid before I got it that it would be too big for my small wrists and it would look odd. As soon as I put it on I knew it looked just fine and I’m happy with it. I’ve been wanting to upgrade from my Series 5 but neither the Series 6 nor Series 7 we’re different enough to justify it. The Series 8 isn’t either. The only thing worth getting them is the fast charging.

The Ultra is a significant upgrade and definitely worth it. I just wish the trail loop would get here sooner. I like the alpine loop but I much prefer the trail loop. Mine is currently due for delivery from November 9th and 16th.

Ditto! What colour did you go for?

I posted this in the UK iPhone thread but I thought I would post it here too. So I’ve been wearing long sleeve shirts to work this week for the first time since last winter. I imagine the experience may be different for others depending on what style of shirts they wear. For me so far wearing the Apple Watch Ultra under my sleeve hasn’t been a problem. I do have to button my sleeve on the first rather than the second button but that’s fine.
