Shipping always updates the day before, so tomorrow! The watches are already in the UK otherwise they would start the update from China departure like the US folk are getting.

Seeing so many here getting it via EE

I have an EE F&F discount but it doesnt work on watches so I ordered mine from Amazon

Is there a reason for EE in particular? The plans come out expensive in comparison ( I thought?)
Think it’s so people can pay monthly. I did think about it with EE but my concern is don’t think I would use the data as I always tend to have my phone as I would tend to walk a lot than say cycle. If I was to do a lot of cycling i could see it being worth it.

Ordered my last Saturday , as early upgrade, on the site was showing delivery on launch day, paid 200£ , than noticed that they credited money to my account, so called them few hours later and woman on the phone told me my order has been placed and waiting for pick up by DPD, she gave me my order number , by till today I haven’t received any confirmation email- nothing, I spoke to them again ( EE can be best network in UK by they customer service is one of the worst, waiting times are over 30 min), this time clearly lady on the phone didn’t know what she is talking about, unfortunately they customer service agents , don’t have any knowledge abou products, realise dates , except maybe big products as iPhones , so she told me that Watch is not in stock ( obv haven’t been realised) so maybe I will get sometime next week or so… Other guy I spoke said I will get Tuesday , he meant yesterday, so definitely they are clueless. I cannot upgrade anymore , so definitely they done some but only time will tell what’s happening, I have low expectations about getting it on Friday, my last upgrade (series 6) took about 2 months two delivered, but that time they don’t have any stock at all. The model I ordered shows now 7 days delievery time.
This is very much my experience too. I phoned when preorders went up on the Friday at 1. Took half an hour before I got through to someone. She took the payment told me delivery on the 23rd. By the time we had finished the call she said it was on back order. Never received an email or text confirmation absolutely nothing. Also noticed I had a credit on my account for £196 yesterday. Phoned up, person I spoke to said it’s should be a debit of £196 and is your watch order. She couldn’t confirm order number and said she couldn’t send confirmation as it should have happened when the order was taken. She said to check my spam, so I told her I already had and she said there’s nothing I can help you with. She wouldn’t give me a date for the watch arriving. Just said wait to hear from DPD. Really helpful! Money was taken out of my account days ago. So who knows when I’ll get it.

How painless was it to get a data plan with EE ? I struggle to find a link on their website (I'm on a SIM only plan with them).
It’s amazing how after all these years of cellular Apple Watches and eSIMs that EE don’t have good documentation.

I’m tempted to order a Trail Loop for my Ultra watch. My wrist size is approx 160mm.
The S/M size is 130-180mm and the M/L is 245-220mm.

I’m guessing S/M would be the better size, what do you all think?

Have you used them before ? I can get £20 off with my Blue Light Card but I don’t thing I’ve heard of Box ? Bit skeptical re stock.

Never ordered before, but they despatched within a couple of hours and it’s supposed to arrive tomorrow.. we’ll soon see!

They’ve got decent reviews

Did you order before 4pm today - that seems to have been the cut off for tomorrow ?

Vodafone as well too. When it failed to set up in the app I spent 40 mins on the customer service line holding for the one person that knows how to set them up. Why can't it be done simply in the app after all these years?

Maybe Apple will go full satellite for all watch communication soon.

Did you get next day delivery? They’ve sent mine via DPD but I have no tracking number
I did, but they weren't release day things where Apple might have been instructing them to hold it.

If they've shipped it today, you should get a tracking number tonight or first thing. Have you tried the DPD app? Often things show up in there before you get notified by the seller.

Yeah, tried the app. They’ve told me they’ve despatched it and it might be the case that they’re “unable to provide a tracking for security”

After my post this morning, I couldn't shake that niggling feeling of buyer's remorse and I've decided to return my Series 8 stainless steel.

The Series 8 price hike of £130 on top of the outgoing Series 7 stainless steel with milanese loop is too much to swallow, especially as so few of the new Series 8 features matter at all to me.

I then started considering the Series 7 with milanese loop from Amazon for £649 retail as I do like the more usable display and keyboard; £200 from Music Magpie for my trusty Series 6 means I would have to put my hand in my pocket for the remaining £449, which still feels like too much for what is really just quality of life improvements over my Series 6.

Think I'm going to hold out until the Series 9, which should hopefully get some of the features from the Apple Watch Ultra dripping down, such as the action button and perhaps L1+L5 GPS.

It was way, way easier than I could have imagined. Apple does it all for you. A message pops up during setup asking if you want a £7 a month EE plan (I got 10Gb of data with it). Say “yes” and you get a message back to say it‘s done but might take a couple of hours to be connected (it took about 30 mins). As easy as that.

Edit: It was that easy so I may have forgotten that it takes you to the EE website and you have to sign in to your account.

Looks at EE’s site I can’t tell if they have stock for the 23rd?

I want the black hiking strap, so I ordered that separately from Apple, but if my Milanese strap works fine, it could be ok?
Last year they were as good as their word.

It’s not so straightforward to transfer the plan to another watch when you replace the watch. You have to call EE and give them the new EEID number of the new watch. They move the plan over and it can take a few hours. I know a few people that have had some real trouble trying to get the plan sent across to a new watch.
