I’m presuming the Ultras are shipping from within the UK as opposed to from China. Mine has been at prepared for shipping a few days now cans is due to be delivered on Friday.
They must have been in the UK for ages. Mines been preparing for many days. Still waiting for Apple to take my money as well. Will hopefully see movement tomorrow.

A couple of thoughts from my move of a Series 6 stainless steel silver 40mm to a Series 8 stainless steel silver 41mm:

Side-by-side, I can see the difference in height and the overall shape. It's slightly taller and slightly rounder. The difference in shape is especially noticeable to my eyes when I pair it with the official stainless steel link bracelet - the bracelet has not had a re-design since the OG Series 0 watch, so it's incredible that it more or less fits with only slight protrusions on the 4 corners.

The display feels larger, though it's subtle to my eyes. The UI feels like it has more room to breathe, with things like buttons, keys and text feeling less cramped and more expansive. I love the keyboard and find I can accurately type messages and enter passwords with no issue. Certain watch faces, such as World Time, that have been optimised for the larger display feel especially slick. What I would love to see is a super Infograph analogue face with room for even more complications! Reviews of the Series 7 all commented that the new larger display is brighter at all times; I'm not seeing this with the display brightness set to its lowest setting, whereas the jump from Series 5 always on to Series 6 always on was dramatic.

I've not been able to use fast charging in anger yet, though I'm travelling over the next couple of days so that will undoubtedly come in handy when I'm in an unpredictable rush.

No intentions of testing crash detection and I'm the wrong gender to try out the temperature sensor and ovulation tracking! I'm hopeful that they will introduce a mid-life software update that does something more with the temperature sensors for people regardless of gender.

Do I like it? Definitely! Does it feel like a worthwhile upgrade? I'm undecided. The jump from Series 4 to Series 5, and Series 5 to Series 6 felt substantial to me. A 2 generation gap should feel more impactful than this, so I'm now wondering whether an upgrade to the Series 7 would be the smarter move - same form factor and a £130 saving or is there something I'm missing?

My contract is up with EE and they still state 28 days or more for the Ultra but I went onto the EE Business page and they had stock for delivery on 23/9/22 so I swapped my contract to a business one and looking forward to delivery this Friday. I presume they use DPD?

Received my AW8 cellular a couple of hours ago (UK). Midnight case. Connected up easily and quickly to EE - £7 a month with 10Gb of data. The first cellular AW I’ve had. I’ve wondered for some years whether it’s worth it and will now find out.

How painless was it to get a data plan with EE ? I struggle to find a link on their website (I'm on a SIM only plan with them).

I’m in the same camp, will be joining the cellular Apple Watch brigade after always being GPS. I can’t imagine me using much data on it at all - but I could be wrong?

Seeing so many here getting it via EE

I have an EE F&F discount but it doesnt work on watches so I ordered mine from Amazon

Is there a reason for EE in particular? The plans come out expensive in comparison ( I thought?)

Nothing on my Ultra.
Ordered my last Saturday , as early upgrade, on the site was showing delivery on launch day, paid 200£ , than noticed that they credited money to my account, so called them few hours later and woman on the phone told me my order has been placed and waiting for pick up by DPD, she gave me my order number , by till today I haven’t received any confirmation email- nothing, I spoke to them again ( EE can be best network in UK by they customer service is one of the worst, waiting times are over 30 min), this time clearly lady on the phone didn’t know what she is talking about, unfortunately they customer service agents , don’t have any knowledge abou products, realise dates , except maybe big products as iPhones , so she told me that Watch is not in stock ( obv haven’t been realised) so maybe I will get sometime next week or so… Other guy I spoke said I will get Tuesday , he meant yesterday, so definitely they are clueless. I cannot upgrade anymore , so definitely they done some but only time will tell what’s happening, I have low expectations about getting it on Friday, my last upgrade (series 6) took about 2 months two delivered, but that time they don’t have any stock at all. The model I ordered shows now 7 days delievery time.

Basically you paying 7£ plus tax times 24 month for watch plan, plus about 29 £ times 24 for watch price plus additional 190£ upfront , whole covers price of the watch and extra for watch tarif.

Anyone who ordered from the UK via Apple had any movement despite 'Preparing for dispatch'? Mine has been stuck on this for some time and don't have any tracking ID.

Same here but I wouldn't worry about shipping. We will most likely get a shipping email between now and tomorrow for delivery Friday :)
