They promised the iPhone on launch day also when I and everyone else ordered it and that never happened so I’ll be very surprised if this doesn’t go the same way. It states released on the 23rd September, Not delivered on the 23rd.

The statement on their page should, by now, have a confirmed delivery date not ‘ We will email you when we have an estimated delivery date’

I have orders with them and Currys. First to confirm dispatch wins !
I currently have a pre-order in with Amazon for an Ultra with Green Alpine in Medium, I choose the pay in 5 instalments option to soften the blow. Anyway, people seem to think its unlikely that Amazon won't deliver on the 23rd so I've stuck an order in with Argos who currently have them and are saying they will deliver on the 23rd. Also, you can split the payment in 3 with PayPal so it similar but not quite as spread out.
Not an ultra order but a SS with leather loop is still due tomorrow. Shipped from china and been at the local depot since Saturday… was hoping it would have turned up today!

got the watch and been deliberating on whether or not I like the graphite!
coming from owning a space black titanium s5 and then space black SS's before then, I'm thinking the graphite is too close to silver for my liking.
only problem is going for Stainless steel space black means going Hermes! 🤦♂️
You could always go Ultra for around the same price as a graphite SS. SS is priced a bit awkwardly now - not much in it Vs the Ultra. Hence I've been deliberating !
Do you have an extensive strap collection from before that limits you to black/darker colours? If not, I'd say stick with the graphite, which should be more versatile with more strap colours and styles than the space black steel and titanium from before.
The Hermes are a tough sell. You and I both know the resell is awful on Apple Watches of any flavour, but especially so on the more expensive models. It just feels wrong to pay so much for a device that will be made obsolete by software in several years time.
Common sense and apple products don’t go hand in hand with me!
I’ve returned the graphite and now need to decide if I do want the space black..
Could go the opposite end and go cheap with the intention of changing next year.
Annoyingly only the regent at store seems to be the one which has any Hermes bands on display

Yep, it's only the flagship stores in each country that have physical stock of the Hermes and former titanium models.
Which strikes me as odd for London, I would consider Covent Garden and the new Brompton Road store just down the road from Harrods to be equally justified in terms of being as high-end as Regent Street.
Apparently review embargo for the Ultra is lifted tomorrow at 2pm BST. Presumably it will be the usual “client journalists” 🙄but hopefully some objective views can be gleaned.
