Do you really think the general public is aware of the white iPhone issue? My family members weren't even aware that there was more than one iPhone model ever released. I asked my friend what kind of phone she had and she said "iPhone" I said, "I can see that, what model?" she just gave me a blank stare. The white iPhone dates slipping is not a "black eye for apple" outside of this small circle.

I think generally people are aware there will be a white one eventually, since it is on Apple's website afterall. Most aren't aware that the initial availability date slipped though, they just know it hasn't been available since the phone came out and that it still isn't available.

No, I'm still waiting for the white iPhone. That, or a revised one.
Would you like to insult me some more? You've done a fabulous job insofar.
You obviously care, then. It looked like one of those generic write-without-thinking blanket statements made a lot here, and they get fairly old. That said, I do apologize. It seems I may have misconstrued your comment.

They might as well hold off and make it the iPhone 5. I'd hate to buy a white one so late in the year and then not be able to upgrade when the next one comes out in June. -- And although I had considered getting white this time around, the sensor is FUGLY. Wish it was better concealed as it is with the black one.

Agreed. They may as well just wait and release iPhone 5 in black AND white.

I think it's a good thing. Now with Android selling out more than the iPhone, Apple'll be forced to compete more proficiently. Problems such as exclusivity, for example, will seize to become problems.

I hope they offer more than 1 model I'd love to have an iphone with a 4" screen.

Yeah I mean, it has been a month and a half since the black was released. It's practically next summer already, they might as well just wait.

At this point, I don't think anyone really cares about the White iPhone.

I have to agree. Initially I was going to hold off and get a white one, but the iPhone-4 is already way behind the tech curve. The Apple ecosystem is the reason I'm still in the hunt but I personally believe a new version of the iPhone will be out before we know it. In the words of a Microsoft Exc., the iPhone-4 has become Apple's Vista. 'Perception trumps facts every time'.

Yes, and by the END OF THE YEAR it will have been almost SIX MONTHS, probably SEVEN by the time consumers get their hands on one. Then what? Another 6 months before iPhone 5? That's IF Apple wait that long.

Big deal, people were still buying the 3GS (and still are since it is still for sale) right up until the 4 was released. Most consumers aren't like us and didn't even see the iphone 4 on the horizon up until it was announced. iPhone 4 sales will still be very strong 6 months before the 'iphone 5' comes out and would probably get a bump if a white one was released at that time. Try and think like a business. I think in general people on this site fail to realize that 95% of consumers do not follow tech news like we do and don't give a **** either.

Any color you want

You can have your white (or any other color FTM) iPhone 4 NOW!!

Just have it painted! *

It will set you back $250 or so, but that's a little price to pay for all the karma and good feelings you'll get --and us, when all that complaining stops. ;)

* I have neither an interest or any experience with them --I just googled it

The iPhone 4 is Apples worst product in decades. Terrible device. I have not had a single call complete without the proximity sensor failing to do its job. Nothing is more embarassing and annoying than dialing with my face while on a 100 user conference call. You can't trust the phone to be on mute, either.

I really regret offloading my 3GS for this useless device.

I agree 100%. To the vast majority (especially teens, and a lot of women) the white iPhone 4 will be a 'new' phone on the market. And a lot of the late adopters of the 3GS will be ready for a new phone. A huge percentage of them have no idea what Macrumors.com is, or Engadget, or Gizmodo, etc. So a bump in memory or storage means nothing at all. It's simply an iPhone and a newer model than the one they had before.

How is it behind? As far as I know, it has some of the best hardware in the mobile market.

Screen? Best out there.
Processor? 1 GHz is the standard. I have yet to see something higher.
Camera? Anything above 5 MP is a complete waste without a larger/better sensor.
Video Recording? 720p HD is freaking awesome on the phone. Only a few other top tier devices have it.
Battery? Can't be trumped.
Storage? It's a little behind, but not by much. You can fit 40GB into a Droid X, so 32GB isn't far behind.

Anywhere else? The iPhone isn't behind the tech curve, for whatever you deem as "behind", is pseudo-specs. Perhaps I'm wrong though, in which case, enlighten me.

No, Steve said 'later this year', not 'end of this year'.

I guess, according to Apple dictionary, it's synonymous.

Excactly. Nobody knows yet. Apple delayed the white iPhone once and then said 'later this year'. Later could mean tomorrow, if they sorted out the problem and it is true that whiteiPhone4Now.com received new white Front panels from OEM. Hope so, as I still intend to wait for it :)

I said I wasn't going to buy an iPhone until I could walk into an Apple Store and buy one (my recently downgraded-jailbroken 3G was working like a charm, I ended up only missing the unified inbox from iOS 4) and when getting my Magic Trackpad I was able to do just that.

What I wasn't expecting was the complete lack of colored bumpers and the resulting eBay market for them. Haven't really had the antennae problem either.

Next year when Mr. Jobs is explaining why the iPhone isn't available in white he will cite sales which will include the iPhone 4's numbers which will make it seem like no one wanted a white iPhone.

Goodbye white iPhone, until the next redesign.

Steve Jobs says..."once you've had black you never go back"

.....whether you like it or not !!

wow, someone with common sense...

What a sad life you must have. I hope you feel some sort of fulfillment stickin' it to Apple. Of all the things you could be doing with your life and you spend it on Macrumors.com bashing the iPhone. Wow, people are so sad these days. What the hell happened to motivated young people?

Dammit. Why are people so ignorant? I'm going to assume you haven't even seen an iPhone 4 in person, let alone used one.
