According to Expeditors, I'm now "Out for Delivery", and I spoke to Apple this morning, who said both my Thunderbolt Cable and AppleCare had been merged and they were just waiting on UPS to pick it up.

I just wish I knew what "Out for Delivery" meant! Is it coming to me now or not? My Apple Order Status doesn't give me any details apart from the original delivery date of 20 December, and there's no reference to UPS (assuming that's the carrier it's coming with), so who knows?

Takes them quite a while to unload ;)

Did anyone go through Quidco to get their iMac and have their purchase tracked? I just had to raise a claim.

I went through quidco but on the terms and.conditions it states that the new iMac is exempt. Have you had any luck getting it tracked?

Mine is looking like this when tracked......

Event Date Description Origin Destination Remarks
17-Dec-2012 15:00:00 GMT Requested Delivery Date LONDON, ENGLAND (LHR)
17-Dec-2012 12:29:00 GMT Out for Delivery 4*****
16-Dec-2012 12:14:00 GMT Import Customs Release LONDON, ENGLAND (LHR) 120-069045N
16-Dec-2012 12:04:00 GMT Decl. Lodged w Customs LONDON, ENGLAND (LHR) 120-069045N
16-Dec-2012 12:03:00 GMT Comm Docs Received LONDON, ENGLAND (LHR)

Seems odd that the "Requested Delivery Date" comes after "Out for delivery"..... And also has a time stamp which is 2 hours away!!..... Does that mean I should expect delivery in next 2 hours????

Ay thoughts most welcome.

Thanks

Wow! Lucky you!!!

I'm still waiting.......................

At least, it means they needed about 4 hours to update the delivery status, right?

Mine says similar with 'Requested Delivery Date' scheduled for 15.00 today-Apple lady said it had arrived at Hinckley 11am. Waiting on tracking info & hoping it will be tomorrow tho' Apple's 24 hr notice would be Wednesday.

Don't think I'd rely on that long term, what happens if the external becomes disconnected, could it corrupt you files?

Well I cant see how it would be spontaneously disconnected, but I do daily backups anyway. no greater a risk than any other external HD solution and I've never had a problem with that.

Think it's being delivered to UPS when you get your tracking number-then we'll know more.

Did someone already leave the IDE centre with TNT? My thumb hurt from refreshing ;). It's been there for 6 hours. It could have been home already ;)

No. Not much happening. When I log in to my Apple-account it says: Origin Airport Terminal.

It also says express delivery, so they should be able to get it from Holland to Norway before Thursday.

TNT to Amsterdam

Hi there,

Some more info for you guys that are getting this beast shipped with TNT to Amsterdam (where i happen to live)

Here is my TNT info:
17 Dec 2012 13:47:14 Arnhem Hub Shipment In Transit.
16 Dec 2012 19:44:43 Pudong International Airport Shipment In Transit.
15 Dec 2012 20:34:55 Pudong International Airport Shipment Received At Transit Point.
15 Dec 2012 20:27:00 Shanghai Shipment In Transit.
15 Dec 2012 20:24:05 Shanghai Shipment In Transit.
15 Dec 2012 19:46:38 Shanghai Shipment Collected From Sender.
15 Dec 2012 18:10:28 Shanghai Shipment Collected From Sender.

Expected delivery is tomorrow.

Anyways i thought i'd call TNT to see if i could pick it up at the Amsterdam hub at the end of the day so i could start using the thing already!! But they told me that transit from Arnhem to Amsterdam happens during the night time. And since driving to Arnhem is a bit to much out of my way, i decided to just wait another day until delivery tomorrow. It will be somewhere between 9am and 4 pm.

Patience...

It's exactly the same for me - and I'm wondering the same !!!!!

I think that has got to be delivery to Apple for merging of items and such. At least that is what I'm thinking and I'm in the same boat.

Hopefully once it leaves Apple we will be emailed an official tracking number and a solid delivery date?

OK - just ignore me! It's on its way to UPS-then tracking number at 3pm.

As far as I know!
