UK/Europe order/delivery thread MBA 2012

Ordered my BTO 13" on Friday midday - dispatched today and the UPS scheduled delivery date is Friday 22nd - fairly impressed with the week turnaround if it actually happens!

The exp.o site has a info lag of ~2 hours. See time stamp on the site. Wait another 1,5 hours and you will most likely see a change in status.

London. I ordered through the educational store but i knocked off the £70 student card as i noticed it prolonged delivery by a day or two - i need the Air before this Sunday as i'm leaving the country for a few months - not sure if that's made a difference? No merging or anything...

I'll probably ring and complain i didn't get my student gift card with my order, hopefully they'll see i ordered through the educational store and send it to me afterwards or similar..
 
Also got the billing info via mail today.

I ordered my Macbook Air 13", 2.0 ghz, 8gb RAM, 256 gb ssd
at 11.30 pm on the 11th of june.

I´m living near Münster, Germany. Some other guys who also live in North Rhine Westfalia (Aachen, etc) said that their order was in Cologne..

What the hell is my order doing in Prague?

Any ideas?

Still no tracking information from apple? Do they ship with DHL or UPS?

My MBA was on the same flight it appears and is also to be delivered today at 15.30 to Apple in Prague via Frankfurt. I can only suspect that it is there they merge it with the giftcard.

I'm with you on the slightly weird practice of shipping the MBA from Frankfurt, which is close to where we live (Würzburg here) to bloody Prague, instead of delivering it yesterday when it arrived in Germany. Odd they didn't just merge the card with it here.

Anyway, lets cross fingers they can send it ou via UPS asap. I don't have any UPS trackig yet either.
 
SOOoooo fed up! Sent Tim Cook an email - doubt he'll ever see it but it relieved my feelings somewhat!:mad::mad:
 
Yes, it is because of the gift card.
Mine is also going over Frankfurt to Prague and then back 600 km into Germany. If I had known that I would not have taken the ********** gift card.

I hope I get a tracking info tonight or tomorrow morning. How long does it take the UPS delivery to France ? I really wish I can get my computer before this weekend ! :eek:
 
Actually the gift card is adding insult to injury because I have been charged for it - in the middle of trying to sort it out now. In addition to initially being charged the previous price for the MBA!:mad::mad::mad:
 
MIne is also on a flight from Shanghai to Prague via Frankfurt, but it seems a little bit later then yours. According to Lufthansa Cargo its arriving in Frankfurt at 5:25pm and hopefully at Prague tomorrow morning to get merged and delivered to my home.
I think from Prague, where the Apple Depot is, to your home it shouldn't be more then 1 overnight flight.
Last week I ordered a refurbished iPad 2 on Thursday morning about 10am, got it delivered from Eindhoven to my home in Austria/Graz on Friday 1pm.:cool:

Minor followup: The data seems to be updated quite often for me (note that the "Date as of" field is GMT, not local).

Your not the only one, i rung on wednesday (ordered tuesday) after seeing the amount of money on hold from my account included the £70 giftcard. They said they would sort it but today the money has been taken including the £70. Had to ring again and they are looking into it.... This hasnt been a good shopping experience with apple

I found that if you just refreshed the page the time wasn't updated, but if you went back to the main page and clicked the search button it was.

About the gift card, have you checked the total you are billed?

I checked mine and I was billed for the gift card, but they knocked £70 off the MBA.

Yes actually, my bad. Time stamp is GMT ie 2 hours "after" CEST so data is instant.

No not yet, it says on the Apple site "preparing for hand-over to final carrier."
 
So, as I expected, exp.o site updated today!

Services Completed: Delivered

Now just waiting for UPS tracking number. If UPS takes it tomorrow until 17h I have a change to get it in France by Friday!!! :D
