Ah fingers crossed you get it soon! I’ve heard crazy stories of delays over on BabyBMW thanks to the chip shortage.

As for the car, I love it. I only went for the 218i but I specced it quite well (Mineral Grey Auto - Tech Pack with the HUD, Comfort Pack with Comfort Access, and the Driver Assistance Pack). It’s been an amazing car since February - the HUD is something I can’t live without now. I barely look at the instrument cluster anymore and when I do it feels like a distraction. People have polarised views on the look of the 2GC but I like it. I will say that the MPG could be better. It’s good but it’s not as good as my old 1.6 Focus.

Bought my BMW around 1.5 years ago now. Its a second car more for when we go out as a family etc, so its not driven much TBH (I work within walking distance).
My first BMW and absolutely love it. Actually went in for a 3 series or possibly an M4, came out with an X5! lol

Only thing I didn't like about BMW is how they tried to push the lease options etc at point of sale - I always generally buy stuff outright as I don't believe in paying all the interest etc if you have the money to purchase something up front. As soon as I told them it was a cash sale it was like they almost lost interest!!
Anyways, got the packages I was after - Tech, comfort, etc - so all good. And yes, that HUD is priceless! So is the 360 view when parking! The remote 360 view via the app is a bit hit and miss, but nice when it works!! Otherwise I tend to check on the vehicle via the display key so don't use the app other than to plan a journey and send to the car beforehand etc.

Have the 360 cameras, but also had the BMW Advanced Eye dash cam fitted as an 'always recording' option - has too many extra features I would never use, but would always recommend a dash cam for all drivers! (albeit a cheaper one TBH - the BMW one is expensive and overkill)

Guys check your shopping receipts!

Went for a general 'junk food' shop with the kids, only to Asda. Came to about £70 which I felt was a little odd......Usually I don't check the receipt but decided to have a quick scan as we were walking out. Noticed I have been charged for some items 4 TIMES when I had purchased the one!!

Went back, they checked their CCTV - and was refunded just over £15!
Thats £15 of shopping I did not do and they would have taken if I hadn't checked!!!!

Nice of them to give me a goodwill voucher though............for £2!!!!!!!!! lol

Never again will I buy one:-
Back in 1985 I had a 5 series and one day one of the front light clusters gave up the will to live.
A call to my dealer and the price was somewhere around £100 (if my braincell still functions)…..
Told a mate at work and he said, nip down to Fords… The Capri 2.8i has the very same Lucas part.
Sure enough and it was around £20 ish….
On my way back I called in to the BMW dealer and asked a salesman why is there such a price difference?
He lazily pointed to my front bumper BMW sign and with a tone of arrogance and sarcasm replied “That is the reason”.

My friend told me a similar story too.
Honestly, it's only of those things I've always wanted! I'll probably sell in a few years and go all electric when the infrastructure is more widespread.....

I want one that’s like a head hair trimmer, nice and wide, with proper numbers to keep my beard one length easily.
Not cheap but really, really good. The metal guide makes a real difference precision wise.

Also consider this Panasonic one too - it uses a similar linear motor to their shaver line.

Quick question… is there a UK watch pre order thread I’m missing? Can’t keep up with the worldwide thread!

Also I’m mildly embarrassed at the state of my 5SS compared to a load on there, I’m ordering cape cod cloths for the first time. Both my 0 and 3 were scratched, but I think they may pass comment at the condition if I send it in like it is now…

Thanks.

The thing is, they don’t look like what I think I want!

I want a nice wide unit, with the ability to be set to a specifif length, so I can just keep my beard one length.

Like you would set a hair clipper to say, number 2, and you’d end up with a nice even hair do.

I set my trimmer to number 3 once to trim my eyebrows - just wanted to get the odd one or two long ones trimmed so figured it would work fine!
I pressed too hard and it slipped down to number one and I ended up shaving half my eyebrow off - this was in the morning just before I left for work! Had to use the wife's pencil to try draw it back on to make it less noticeable lol

Well either of them will do that just fine. I’ve been through loads of trimmers and the Philips is by far the best I’ve had.
Alternatively just buy a decent hair clipper and use that instead
