PS: anyone have any idea how much student discount we can get on ipad air ? If i remember it correctly it is 3% on the ipad air and we have to access the website through uni network ?
You can order outside your university network as long as you have the direct URL for the specific store, if you google it you should be able to find the address since they're all the same except for the number at the end.
Thats what people are talking about that there is a high probability that tesco will going to remove that code or somehow it will not work on ipad air... all speculation

Even they don't know if that offer will apply. So somehow I doubt it will.
I'm trying to get this info out of them at the moment, but no replies as of yet.

Tesco direct customer services said 8am over the phone but not sure how accurate this is.

Really annoying that we can't reserve online and pickup in store. They did that with the iPad 2 and it worked really well. I work near the Regent St store so i was hoping to go and grab one at lunchtime. Do you think it's realistic that i might be able to go and grab one?

They offer click and collect, but you have to wait until after 4pm the next day (although its normally earlier than 4pm). Its not like Argos where you can reserve instore stock.
I went into Tesco Extra Hanley earlier and they had no idea if they were getting the iPads in or not. I told the guy that Tesco had told me directly via Twitter that the Hanley store would be getting stock, he was still oblivious and just said unless apple are sending out couriers then they won't know until it arrives.
Just been to my local Tesco Extra, spoke with the guy in the electrical dept who said they already had their delivery. Managed to reserve one and will be return at midnight to pick up. He spoke to the manager and apparently they can start selling them at 12;00 but not all stores will have staff on overnight to deal with customers wanting iPads; hence the 8am information from Twitter.
If you order through the education store do you get a free extended warranty like you do with the macs.
Took them the best part of three hours to concoct their pointless response to me - wouldn't hold your breath!

To those who have been to Apple product launches before, does anyone know roughly how long it takes between the store opening at 8am and getting out with your new device? I'm asking because this will be my first one and I have a University lecture at 9am. Luckily though my Uni is very literally just around the corner but I just wanted to get some sort of idea of the timing if I'm in-and-out,
