I imagine you could walk into most stores tomorrow or Saturday and pick one up without the wait to be honest.

I'm not going to risk it. I'll order online on Apples site to be safe. If I can get one locally before it's processed and delivered then I will cancel it.

Tesco finally replied, no midnight launch in store.

Check out @Tesco's Tweet: https://twitter.com/Tesco/status/395948563911696384

Guess its either 8am at Apple or John Lewis or Midnight online from Apple.

I'm going straight from apple. Clean, fast, no bull s***.

Anyone heard any news that managed to order their iPads earlier from asda?

I'm starting to get anxious haha

It appears 24 hour shipping has been confirmed! Looks like we'll all be getting deliveries next week! No waiting weeks and weeks for shipping like the 5s!

----------

That's only for the US customers, UK customers have to just go in store and try their luck!

Oh really? Wow. Was gonna order anyway.

Great, its worth waiting for a day then to get an extra years warranty.

To be honest, I would rather buy from an Apple Store because I know that if anything goes wrong within the 12 months, Apple will replace it there and then - whereas after 28 days or whatever it is with JL, they will send it away for repair. I agree though that the 2 year guarantee is nice to have and I've never had anything but great customer service from JL but Apple's no quibble exchange is second to none. I would probably replace it with the new model in 12 months time anyway so I don't think the extra year would be of benefit.

so...um.... your are WRONG.

Apple repairs all devices, regardless of where you purchased them, so long as the repair is within the 1 year warranty window. Of course, if the ipad breaks due to your own fault (and you don't have applecare+), you as SOL no matter where you bought it.

First 12 months are with Apple regardless of where the device is purchased

I suppose the only issue that arises is that if your JL iPad air has an issue and an apple store needs to replace it will JL still honour the 2nd year warranty on the replacement device that has a different serial number?

I'm not sure they would to be honest?

I bought an iPad from Argos and it had a really yellow screen. Took it to Apple and they said I had to get a refund/replacement from Argos. I got Argos to refund but only after I had to get the Genius to write them a note to say it was faulty! Then bought one from Apple.

I'll get the Air from Apple, purely as I may want to take it back inside 14 days.

I presume that the next day Saturday delivery with J Lewis will be applicable for ipad air orders too?

Thanks

The iPad Airs, assuming the JL distribution centre in Milton Keynes physically have them in stock, shouldn't be any different to any other iPad (or any other product for that matter). At least I hope so as I'm pinning my hopes on them for my Air.

I believe they must physically have their stock as their website is showing available to order from 8am tomorrow; if JL don't have stock of an item, the website doesn't have a purchase option, only an "email me when in stock" option.

Fingers firmly crossed ....

well it is still not confirm that 30 £ code will apply to ipad air or not (hoping it will). Tesco direct showing 'CURRENTLY UNAVAILABLE' for the ipad air :)

I'm betting by the time the air is available for purchase on that site, that code will not work

damm right :mad::mad::mad:

PS: anyone have any idea how much student discount we can get on ipad air ? If i remember it correctly it is 3% on the ipad air and we have to access the website through uni network ?

It's really tricky as far as I'm concerned of know what to do tomorrow to get an iPad Air.

Stock appears to be plentiful which in theory means easy to get from many different stores tomorrow but it depends on demand ultimately.

If this is like the iPhone 5S launch then they will be gone but if it's like previous iPads then I think I could turn up at 8am and after queuing get what I want.
