So I ordered from Apple a few days ago, learned that Currys/PC World were getting stock, so cancelled Apple order.

Ordered online and shipping was 3-5days from yesterday!

Then pick up from store goes live yesterday for collection today, so cancelled the delivery to door order and reordered for collection from store. Now had email from couriers that it is on way to store for me to collect later :D

£30 cashback also, so £289 for a wifi mini ain't too shabby.

After many, many hours of deliberation in work, I reckon the Cellular Mini with Retina at 64 GB is for me. Portable, connected, enough space for photographs and apps, sufficient for Netflix and very light. I will venture into my nearest Apple store this weekend before placing the order on-line. Also, I fancy looking at these new Smart Cases. I always liked the black OtterBox Commuter case with my white iPhone but unfortunately they only offer the Defender case for iPads; it's an awesome piece of kit but blimey, it's far too OTT for my usage. Has anybody used the Smart Cases yet, can they prop up the iPad on more than just one surface? I always found the Smart Covers to be very flimsy and somewhat gimmicky i.e. didn't sufficiently prop up the iPad on any non-hard, non-levelled surface.

Is anybody checking the Trafford Centre Apple store, in Manchester, website for availability? Is there lots of stock at 6.00pm - when the site opens?

I keep forgetting to set the alarm for that time, but I'm curious if all the stock disappears before I get up :)

I've looked yesterday and today at 6am, just 16gb wifi occasionally. As I said above, between 0600-0603 today there was a 32gb cellular briefly. The first cellular I've seen appear on any of the northwest Apple stores based in my patchy investigations in the last couple of days.

Which one are you holding out for?

128gb LTE Space Grey. Probably going to have to wait for my online order to come good, the few places that are selling, or soon will be selling, cellular mostly look to top out at 64gb.

It's silly I'm still even monitoring the situation really, I've got a perfectly adequate current Mini 64gb LTE in my hands right now, but...must...have...shiny....tsk. It'll be my last iPad for at least a couple of years, probably would have skipped v1 Mini if I hadn't made the mistake (for my usage) of getting a wifi only launch iPad 3. Really missed cellular on that one, eesh, and quickly got sick of tethering.

I bought my iPad Air 16GB wifi for £399 with John Lewis as unlike Apple, Curry's Tesco who only seemingly offer a 1 year limited warranty, John Lewis offer 2 years. Now I know if you argue it with the other retailers you should get it covered for 2 years, but its fuss I don't need if something should go wrong.

I realised after I bought it that other places were offering £30 cash back like you said, so I contacted John Lewis who were more than willing to refund the cash back amount to match. So I got my iPad for £369 with a 2 year limited warranty. I always recommend John Lewis because their customer service is brilliant and when there is an issue, they bend over backwards to help. There's good deals on iPads everywhere right now though :)

Maybe on electronics, but I had a terrible experience with John Lewis over a fridge/freezer. Took a month for them to send someone out to put the doors round the way how I ordered them

After trying to read a magazine on my Mini last night I realized my tired eyes just aren't up to the task of reading such small text without zooming...and I do hate zooming so will be trading in for the air today.
Anyone know if there's still the issue of yellow screen's with the air? I'm not that OCD but will be getting the white one so it will be noticeable if there's a yellow tint and it will grate me.

My release day Air had a pink tint to the whole screen, and a speck of dust under the glass. I got it replaced on 7th. Replacement one has very very minimal yellow in the bottom left of the screen, most noticeable when the keyboard is up. Rang monday about a replacement but none in stock, and the store are insisting I show it to a genius. Haven't had a call yet but will chase today. I want to see the replacement one before they instigate the swap, and also outside of the dodgy apple store lights, so considering purchasing the replacement and then return one or both in a day or so.

Basically once they instigate the swap, you can't ask for the old one back if the new one is worse.

If you do an express repair via apple support online then they will send out the new one, which you can check, then you have to send one back.

There's always bad experiences I'm sure, but all of mine have been good. I bought a Samsung TV from them and got a replacement when it failed after 3 years. A colleague of mine also had a brilliant experience 3 weeks ago when he took his Galaxy Tablet in after the sim card slot failed on the device. Because it was an old tablet they no longer stocked, they offered him an exchange. He opted for the iPad Mini (1st gen) and they didn't grumble at all. He basically got a slightly more expensive tablet for the trouble. I think service can be judged by the person you speak to as well.

Of course. Unfortunately my one experience was negative.

Oh really, I didn't know that. Thanks for the heads up.

When I called the store about a 2nd replacement, they did say the manager "remembered me" from the first replacement. Sounded sinister. Don't want to be labelled by the store as a serial returner lol.

Hmm. I recently purchased a second hand iPad 4 as well as the rMini (which I'm waiting to arrive today) with the primary aim of reading and so far, I've been enjoying the experience with the former. I think I might just end up returning the rMini.

I do ruck loads of reading on my 5s, so the rMini should be just grand. Almost a 1/3rd lighter than the Air also :D

Play time for me! :D

Same here. Mine arrived about an hour ago.

I wouldn't say my screen has any issues at all. Not that much different from the iPad Air.

The only minor negative observation is that it's noticeably heavier than my iPad Mini v1. Not larger, just heavier. Feels more solid.

PLEASE don't go looking for issues then, and steer clear of those threads!

Any of these deliveries (from Apple) cellular? Pretty bummed I've got such a later slot (Nov 26-) when I bunged in my order (128gb LTE) at the first opportunity. Easier to swallow if all the early peeps are wifi.
