Hehehe .. yes! .. it was hard to persuade the EE person when I was renewing that I wanted unlimited data after the last months of usage! He said ‘yes but you only use about 1GB a month’ and I just reminded him there’s a global pandemic!!

Lol, I had the same thing thrown at me when I was trying to negotiate my renewal.

I’ve been with Three for nearly a decade and have always been on an unlimited contract. Over time it had slowly risen to £20/month, but last month they decided the contract was too old and the default was to move me onto their £23/month unlimited.
I started by getting them to switch me to £18/month for unlimited which I was happy enough with until I found that’s actually readily available. Feeling like my loyalty hadn’t ment much I looked around and saw the EE 100gb for £16 with the student discount.
Looking at my usage over the last 2 years I’d never actually been over 25gb max in any given month and since March there have been months where I’ve barely reached 2gb.
I phoned Three back to cancel (as still within the cooling off period) and they ended up offering me 30gb for £10/month (still with 5g, hotspot etc).
Not having unlimited will feel weird, but without an end to working from home in sight and as 30gb will still have been enough for me at any point in the past 2 years, £10/month feels like a decent saving.
Moral of the story.... I wish I had started this haggling/threatening to leave lark years ago!
I have 3 sims accounts with 3 mobile and one with EE always haggled them no doubt I will be receiving that nasty letter telling me to paymore each month had this back in 2015 on the one plan...
One sim paying £2.05 unlimited data 200 minutes and unlimited text.
Other one is 8gb unlimited mins text for £4.00.
Home broadband 4g router £8.00 unlimited everything sim deal.
EE 100gb 5G for £11

Anyone facing yellow tint issues? Got a replacement coming tomorrow....my sisters 12 pro is perfect!

How then heck did you get that plan?
Took out the 22 pounds unlimited deal with discounts got them to add the loyalty discount went down to £17 like many users on here achieved next went into live chat next day.

I need less data with this plan looking for 100gb going to be working at home for another 9 months offered me £14 200gb rejected this offer...

I said need less data came back after speaking to his manager with 11 pounds 100gb.... I give a big cheek and said do it for 9 pounds or 10 pounds he said no way.. Lol

How did you get the loyalty? I guess I can't as I've just joined EE?

Really impressed with the 12 Pro so far. Haven’t given it a thorough going over but coming from an X - the improvements are immediately obvious to me.

Wrapped it in a black TORRAS Ultra Thin case and an ESR screen protector. This is the first phone I’ve used a screen protector on and I’m very impressed. I was always nervous that it’d impact the quality of the screen but I really can’t tell it’s on there. The TORRAS case is really nice. I don’t plan on having it on permanently, just until I can get My hands on a silicone one. View attachment 973096View attachment 973097View attachment 973098
I’ve got the same case in blue, but I find it really slippery.

My sister has just applied for a Blue Light Card @Davelfc!?

How do I apply the discount when she becomes a member?

Thanks for your help. :)

When she gets her card she can either use the app or website to request a code to her vault, it’s a code unique to her so will only work once I believe. Then you can just add it to the voucher code section
Just a word of warning, they are clamping down card holders passing out codes as they are meant to be for the holder only.

Re yellow tint, do we think the 6.1 models are BOE manufactured, and the Max/Mini will be Samsung?

All this talk of the competing merits of Apple’s finance deals has now got me thinking about a change in plan. I received the IUP settlement sum of £471.60 by email on Monday. My monthly payment has been taken since then, taking it down to (I assume) ~£412. Apple are offering £500 trade in, so presumably it‘s better for me to settle and initiate a trade in before I start a new loan? Otherwise, I’m losing out due to the timing of my payments?

Can I also claim back unused AppleCare? I had previously assumed that was spread across the monthly payments, but is that not the case? Is it paid up front on the IUP loan?

Yes you could settle the loan yourself and then Apple will offer you £500 trade in when you visit the store which will reduce your new loan considerably. Alternatively they can also offer to trade your phone on the day and give you the funds into your bank for you to settle your old account with. This method relies on Barclay’s approving you for a second IUP loan as the first will not be cancelled until after Apple transfer the money to you.

If you settle beforehand then you can also request a refund for the remainder of your AppleCare+ as the full 2 years was included in your original IUP finance agreement.

AFAIK they’re still mainly using Samsung panels.

Top service today at the Liverpool Apple store: had a 6pm pickup slot, very few people there, temp check / hand sanitiser / masks / distancing all in use. In and out in under 10 minutes. All very well organised and felt safe. Phone looks great, had a bit of a play & will set rest up tomorrow. 👍

What brand doesn’t cause the yellow tint?

That almost seems like the wrong size protector.

you can split the Applecare on the 24 month plan too

With regards to the Belkin Ultra Glass fitted by Apple Store on 12/12Pro just seen this on you tube with the Retail version and it looks the same size

The AppleCare on my Xr just ran out and I wasn't offered monthly for that. It just isn't covered now.
Try checking mine expired on my xs
Max and I didn’t get offered but was able to sign up for it I think you have sixty two days after it expires.

So many EE deals on this chat, is £16 100GB with 1 swappable ok? or should I try get more loyalty discounts?

Currently have 20% + £3 loyalty

people on here have tried for years to tie perceived issues with screens to particular suppliers / assembly lines without much (if any) success. TBH I think the whole yellow tint thing is overblown. There’s definitely some variation between panels both within and between years and some faulty ones / badly calibrated ones probably slip through, but the vast majority are fine.
