Yeah I agree with this too.

This thread is always about iPhone pre-orders and dispatches each year. Discussion can diverge to cases and screen protectors as that's related to everyone's iPhones. 5G area network talk is interesting as this applies to the new iPhones.

Talk of actual networks and contracts does happen each year as people upgrade both their iPhones and contracts. But as always, these are specific and dependent to what each person needs.

Appreciate the EE discount codes are very useful for a lot of people so a new UK EE only thread would be better for that discussion. Likewise, a lot of people are not on EE so EE info is not relevant to this particular thread.

Just my two cents.
TBF if people are now going to be having a new thread for different sims then perhaps another one for cases then screen protector etc this has always been a broad range thread that encompasses everything iphone 12 related if people don't like some of the topics then skim past them it doesn't take long to do that.

i'm sure someone posted a link to ee chat as it says its closed

can't seem to find the link any idea what page it might be on or even better repost it ? thanks

no issue here getting to access chat

There is one already a thread for cases and accessories

EE have been utterly brilliant. I’ve been fairly quiet in the thread this year but having been with EE now for three years I was delighted when they offered me 20% off an already very reasonably priced plan which includes an anytime upgrade next year.

Also, just noticed my Pacific Blue 12 Pro receiving some 5G in Glasgow for the first time today and was delighted to see download speeds over 300MB and 30MB upload. Incredible.

You'll find threads for all accessories in the iPhone Accessories section of the forums. I agree with the other poster, all this EE and network talk is boring to scroll past.

Yeah I do get what you mean. There is an accessories forum already set up albeit not UK exclusive. The point on this one is the EE network / discount topic has been talked about for ages - I reckon non-EE people are getting a bit fed up reading about it & having to scroll through!

Yes, the chat about ee has gotten a bit out of hand but I for one am very grateful for the discussions as it has helped me get one of the best deals I have ever had. I normally get those sorts of discussions on HDUK but this thread has blown that out of the water this year.

Furthermore, we find ourselves in a unique position of having a 3-week wait between the different versions of iPhones this year which leaves quite a void for discussions to be had, there is only so much pre-order talk one can have :)

There is an Android section of the forums if you want to discuss Android devices.

I quite like the idea of indexing. If I were a carrier specific user, I could straight away jump into relevant thread. If I were to search for deals/issues related to EE, I would not want to use search function or mindlessly scrolling in UK Pre order thread.

i'm going to be naughty but this is my final word on it
how about a new thread talking about when new threads should be opened ?

the iphone 12 thread has always covered everything from different providers sim upgrades cases different charges and other random stuff thats the joy of it or it is for me.

Which is why a separate thread for UK network deals would be a better place for it.

Each to there own. I was very grateful when I needed the info for a deal myself and with being a U.K. thread it was much better. Now I am sorted out I just scroll past it all unless I can help others out. Doesn’t bother me in the slightest, not everything in a thread is aimed at a individual but the full community of the thread

If that's what you wanna do, go for it.

But just to add on another human factor apart from logistics, this thread becomes like a home for us. Sense of belonging and such. We can say those are not important but that’s what the thread keep growing. So just my 2 cents who are stuck around, skimming through the post is not quite a major issue compared to the gain.

In the apple upgrade programme which is 20 months, part of the monthly payment is apple care. If you upgrade after 11 months and hand your phone back in you effectively start again. But if you sell your phone and settle the upgrade programme you get the unused months of apple care back. I have done this and will get £100 back. Do you pay for the 2 year apple care in the first few payments of the contract? I'm unclear why you get an apple care refund.

So why would anyone just hand their phones back in after 11 months and lose the apple care refund?

Can we have a separate thread for those who want to moan about people discussing EE codes ;-)?
