So this adds another £10+ to the cost of using the MagSafe charger, making it just under £70? Ouch!

Are you happy that this extension doesn’t lead to any degradation or reduction in the charging power of the MagSafe?

I don’t have an iPhone 12 yet as I’m waiting for the 12 People Pro Max. I’ve tested it with my current 11 Pro Max and it does work but I’ve not used it extensively. To be honest I may return the MagSafe and the extension cable not because they don’t work but just because it’s not an ideal or elegant solution. Plus it may not work 100% with a third party non MagSafe case.

I’m not keen on the official Apple clear case and I only use clear cases on my iPhones. Having said that I might get the Belkin 3 in 1 charger or similar when they are available. Or I might stick with my current Belkin 3 in 1 7.5W Qi charger that I use with my 11 Pro Max and Apple Watch.

My xs max went to re buy yesterday morning by DPD. How long did you have to wait for them to advise they had received it?
Next day around 2pm then paid by 8pm same day after marking down and me agreeing to some damage.

How did you sign up and when?
Last Saturday evening for a 12 pro.

iPhone settings, general, about, scroll down to AppleCare and sign up. All the way through the check out it states £9.99 but then on the final screen before taking payment it said £7.99.

That’s worrying not heard from them
Give them a message on the live chat box on the website, it will say they are offline but you can still message and they will email a reply when someone is in the office.

Ah ok, from some of the posts it sounds like they may have fixed it and are now charging the £9.99.
Well done on getting in at the lower price 👍

The value of Applecare+ as with pretty much any optional insurance is how likely are you to break your phone and have you broken any phones previously. Personally I've never bought Applecare+ as I've not broken any of my previous phones. In that time I've probably saved enough to buy a brand new phone.
yep and by now the money you've saved can be used for a broken screen and more. unless you suddenly break it multiple times

I know this is the 12 thread but I sold my XR today and have a lot of cases. Most cheap ones but I have a caudabe sheath on dark blue. I’d hate to just throw it away so if anyone has an Xr they’re keeping or have gifted to someone and would like it let me know and I’ll post it off.

Also apologies to the mods if that’s not allowed. Please feel free to remove the post if it’s not.

Rebuy a known site? Looks like they give a far better price than other sites

What did people sell their old device for on there?

I’ve just used them for the first time. All went smoothly, DPD collected at my door 2 days after initiating the trade in. iPhone 8 Plus 256gb offered 280ish ended up with 260 due to a small nick in the bottom edge. Not worth the time and effort to sell on eBay.

Guessing as long as there are no scratches get full amount then

Do you just package it in a normal box then I'm guessing?

DPD bring the box supplied by Rebuy to send the phone in. They package it at your door, before sealing the box they take photos and notes of any damage.

Interesting. This didn’t happen for me on a direct transfer of data from phone to phone.
I used the same method to transfer from my old iPad Pro 10.5 to my new iPad Air and at first the widgets didn’t transfer over, but they did later after all my apps had reinstalled, cloud data restored and indexing was complete.

Hi there, it will work but I’m not not at the full 15W... needs the bigger 20W or more sadly. Whether this is a bug remains to be seen, but it’s been reported on elsewhere that you need the new brick.

I will try it with my 29W adapter in comparison and inform if there is a difference that end!
Hello everyone, possible significant MagSafe update.

I plugged it in to the back of my USB-C iMac with no adapaters, and the wireless charging was much faster than I have experienced with other Qi chargers.

Might be worth checking for sure, but I am starting to suspect it charges faster if plugged into a USB-C iMac than it would a Non-20W plug.

Ah, that’s interesting. I obviously didn’t have enough patience because I went on to restore from an iCloud backup which was actually much quicker.
