is the product red for the 12/mini the same shade as the se2020? wondering if maybe the 2020 models have a common colour

Anyone upgrading via EE tomorrow? I haven’t upgraded since 2018 and I remember their online upgrades were a bit of a shambles. Is there a direct number for upgrades?
I also wish to know this. 2017 was the last time I ordered an iPhone on day one with them. That was a nightmare. I’ve been looking through the community forums and it looks like the 11 and 12 launches were a shambles too.

I ordered on preorder day for iPhone 12 pro. EE’s site opened before 1300 so I was able to upgrade my contract and had my new phone on launch day. You have to be quick as they sell out fast.

There really is absolutely no point in going on iUP over payments...... but if someone really is intent on having iUP then why not just do this (using 256GB Pro Max handset as an example):

Day 1: Order phone on 24m int free finance with £0 deposit + include AppleCare
Day 1: Transfer £69 into a savings account
Monthly: Pay Barclays £58.24 via your direct debit
Monthly: Transfer £8.21 into a savings account (difference between iUP cost of £66.45 and your £58.24 payment)
End of month 11: Will owe Barclays £757.12
End of month 11: In savings account you will have £159.31, and will be able to refund 13 months of AppleCare which will be £107.77 = £267.08
End of month 11: In order to reach net cost of zero so can start again would mean needing to sell handset for £490.04. If you only got that much would be an absolute steal as history shows that you should be able to command anywhere between £550 and £750 (assuming in good condition but then that would be an issue with iUP also) depending on where you sell (even Apple themselves will almost certainly offer more than £490 as a trade in). Therefore you will very likely end up in profit vs iUP where would just hand phone back.

The above is why iUP makes no sense over 24m interest free payments - but why you can also effectively recreate it for yourself if so determined.

For me - I prefer to keep the monthly payments lower, not take AppleCare (I have separate insurance through my bank account), and still end up being apple to sell phone for more than I owe after a year (so can start again).

Underrated post.

Anyone who ordered a 12/12 Pro able to walk me through how to order tomorrow for store collection with pay in full please?

I've saved my desired config as a favourite. When it goes live at 1pm do I add the phone to my bag and then where do I select store collection?

If you open the app now and pretend you are going to order an iPhone 11 you'll see the options exactly the same

Thanks. I did that, clicked on checkout and got this option.

I then clicked pickup store and it told me it's unavailable. Will that change on the 12 Pro Max tomorrow at pre order?
Can you do the same store collection if you select Apple pay rather than checkout?

Got the 12 Pro this evening. First impressions are that it is a truly gorgeous piece of engineering. Absolutely beautiful. I got the graphite which, although I’ve not seen the blue or gold (not interested in the white/silver) in person, think is the best colour. I’m delighted that it’s darker than it looks in the photos.

One thing I do know for certain is that I’ll be going with the max. The regular 12 Pro is a superb phone but for me, it’s Max all the way.

Yes nothing is showing available for pick-up due to lockdown I assume. Apple retail stores are open tomorrow for click & collect so perhaps pick-up will become available, nobody knows.

So why get the pro then if you know straight away you want the max? You could have looked at the demo ones in the stores to decide that so quickly.

Lol, we are picking up at the same store. I am planning for max to collect too. Since 12 pro, I been visiting like 3 times to oracle for few transactions

I can't decide if I pick up at Oracle or Westfield White City. I'm about half way between both.

Ideally whichever I go to I want an early morning collection. I just want to get my pre order through in double quick time tomorrow.

Westfield may be a bit busier compared to oracle?
just complete in first 10 mins. Click and collect is not that tight competition as home delivery. Home delivery tend to slip delivery window. And I am enough of that button clicking competition since PlayStation pre-order. Things are mad and people too

That's another good reason to go for click and collect in store. Although home delivery seems good because then I don't need to go out, I'm just too impatient 🤣
