My order was also declined by bank. Natwest debit card - called natwest they said they dont allow apple pay payments over £1000! Called apple, and used a normal card over the phone. Payment now taken out of my account and they said I will still recieve on the 13th. Phew.

i bet they have had loads of these calls today!
The adviser on the phone agreed they'd had a lot of calls this afternoon like this.

What number did you call? Just in case I get the same answer from my bank.

Lurking in this thread as a non-UK'ler. I just had a call with support of MasterCard as my Apple Pay payment did not went through, at least according to the mail Apple sent me. They told me Apple has some issues and there's a ticket(?) on their side. However, he told me that Apple tried three times to reserve the amount, 2 got rejected due to technical issues and one is still confirmed.

Not sure, will call Apple tomorrow to be sure. Right now, all lines seems to be busy.

Just got off the phone to Yorkshire Bank. They've said that there's nothing wrong this end and that it appears I've gone over the limit of what I can spend on the Apple Store App? Maybe she meant Apple Pay. I'd love to go into the app and pay another way but alas the app just says my order can't be changed and I need to wait a few hours. Such a frustrating experience in comparison to a few weeks back when I ordered the iPhone 12!

Spigen case ordered as my 2nd case when i don’t want to use the silcone

Using this exact case on my 12 Pro at the moment.

Nice snug fit, and looks great. Only slight niggle is that the side buttons are completely flush with the case, and are pretty hard to push. Needs a fair shove to actually operate them.

Toying with the idea of a proper Apple leather case.

Same thing happened to me yes she meant apple pay, see my post above. You need to call apple so they can take payment via card.

I’ve had similar problems today, Apple Store app not live until 1.05pm, then my Apple Pay wouldn’t go through. Had to quit the app and head back to my basket. It worked then and I got a delivery date of the 13th. About an hour ago, received the text from Santander to confirm my transaction. Replied to it to confirm. Then half an hour ago, App Store notification to say payment declined and to contact my bank or change payment method. On the order page it looks fine, so I think Apple will try again and bank should now allow it? Massive phone queues at my bank and at Apple, so I will just wait until the morning and check the order page again.
Almost exact same thing happening to me, all went through on the app, then just got a notification saying something wrong with payment. Contacted my bank after waiting 40 mins to get through and they said the culprit is Apple Pay not going through and to contact apple to take a card payment instead. Now waiting for Apple to pick up

I am just second guessing on bank security check and orders held. This may be new as Apple charge all payment cards in a short period of time which I did not see on 12 pre-order day and it may be flagging the banks for big time.

Monzo is probably the best way to buy an iPhone on pre-order. NEVER ever had a problem with the four iPhone's and iPad Air I purchased with it.

Tried to chat with them using live chat and it says 'Due to extremely high volumes, we are unable to answer your chat at this time.' Just got the same message more or less when I tried calling and it hung up. What a mess! Tempted to just wait for the app to go up. If the delivery date slips that'll be slightly annoying but it won't be opened until Christmas Day anyway so as long as it's here by then...

So what seems to be the most popular colour for the 12 Pro Max? I went for the Pacific Blue again having bought that colour with the 12 Pro. Gold and Silver did look very nice and did pop out a lot.

This is very poor.
Placed order for PB 256, silicone case and MagSafe.
Apple Pay, MBNA card.

Had an email 30 mins ago requesting I log in and update my payment information. It said:

'To avoid a delay in receiving your order, please update your payment information by signing in to your order status page. This will usually resolve the problem. If it doesn't, contact your card provider and let them know you placed an order with Apple.'

I can't contact MBNA as they're not operating anything except coronavirus emergency calls in the UK.

Apple online chat and calls are being rejected.

Meanwhile, order page shows no issue.

Card app shows pre auth for case value only.

What the hell?

Tim

Before ordering my iPhone 12 Pro ( since returned ) I applied for the interest free payment method and was directed to Barclays. I'm retired and got a knock back, application rejected. I have a new Nationwide Credit card which gives 15 Months interest free so put it on that.
My wife wants the 12 mini, she's retired too. Her application via Barclays was approved and went straight through.
A 128GB 12 Mini in green is due on the 13th. I'll have a good look at that, I used an iPhone 4 and a 6S back awhile, be interesting to see if I could get used to a smaller phone again.

Poops. Accidentally put 2 leather cases in my basket on Amazon instead of 1. Now got to wait a week for the £96 refund to come back on my card. I cancelled straight away too. That’s what I don’t like about Amazon and Monzo. The money comes off straight away.

Can’t cancel my case with Apple yet either. It says try again in a few hours.
Yeah, got the same thing here. I cancelled one of the two cases I initially ordered through amazon and they warned it might be too late so it sounds like they will be dispatched quite quickly... possible before we can cancel the Apple ones!

Just had a similar problem with Barclaycard and fraud checks. Finally got through to Apple after an hour and they said not to worry as the payment itself won’t be taken out until Thursday. Not very reassuring though.

I bought the wrong case on Apple so waiting to cancel that. Seems as if I have to wait until it's processing for me to cancel it.

They've had literally millions of orders in a couple of hours. This sort of thing (order status not being there, updating slowly etc.) happens on every launch day. It'll probably sort itself out by tomorrow.

nah. They have millions buying it every year, never had a problem, until now!

I’ve done this since iPhone 3G and never had this many problems. I’m still on hold with them....2 hours later. Imagine being on hold for 2 hours with Apple. It’s unheard of.
