Because I accidentally requested my eSIM I think I will use it with my new 13 Pro on Friday. A message for it has now appeared on the welcome page of my EE app.

Hi all just used cheapo cases for years as we have never bought top end new ones previously only 2nd hand xs for the mrs and a new 2020 we for me.
Only ever really bought the iPad Pro’s new.
Anyway we always use flip cases she throws hers in handbag etc im a roofer and mine gets slung on the dash etc.
Are shieldon any good or is there another you would recommend.
Ordered the pro for me and the pro max for the mrs.

I’ve bought a cheap MagSafe type wallet off Etsy.

If I use it a lot I’ll consider buying an apple one. I know apple stuff can cost a lot but there’s always the odd accessory that just blows the cost/value proposition out the water and makes you wonder how it costs so much.

My normal walllet is really small with no space for notes just a handful of cards, so I think I can drop down to 2-3 cards.

A lot of the reviews about the knockoff wallets are very negative. Most of the criticism is around a magnet stop being strong enough

I've not done this before. I'll be upgrading for an 11 pro max to a 13 pro max. Is there an advantage over a phone transfer compared to just ye olde icloud backup?

Its MUCH easier. Just bring the phones close together and it will start the process. I prefer it as you don't have to set everything up again - ie email passwords etc - it just copies everything across.
The only thing you may have to redo are re-activate some banking apps etc - apps that are tied to a specific handset, but thats much quicker and easier then having to set up the whole phone again from an iCloud backup......

They can hold three cards but it’s a bit of a squeeze. They are useful for stuff like drivers licenses and ID cards because if you use Apple Pay as well then you don’t need to carry a full-size wallet with you

I have a wallet that takes an AirTag, but I don’t take it out with me anymore as I can use Apple Pay for everything.

Spoke with Argos yesterday to complain about the jiffy bag they sent for the posting of my IPhone. The IPhone would have zero protection and would no doubt be delivered damaged. I was also told that the free postage does not cover the cost of the phone if damaged or lost, so they advised that at my expense that I pay for next day delivery with insurance for the cost of the phone.

I don't believe ANY trade in companies insure for more than £100. Always best to send it Special Delivery where its insured up to £500.

I may have a delivery before Friday now… although not an iPhone

I’d recommend the Shieldon cases. Nice quality. Not as good a quality as the Twelve South BookBook but not as bulky as them.

I think they pick two random people without preorders and they fight to the death. Winner gets your phone.

Oh no wait, you get 14 days to pick it up.

I think they only hold it until the end of the day.

…personally don’t see the point in the MagSafe wallets - they don’t stick to the phone strong enough they ONLY fit 2 cards.

They actually fit 3!

We stopped buying wrapping paper a few years ago and started keeping all the brown paper that Amazon stuff in boxes.

Much better for the planet too, as most wrapping paper can’t be recycled.

The 12.9 pro is great I bought the 1tb version when it came out 😀 I wanted the extra ram etc as I use adobe software a lot so wanted to future proof.

Previous years I didn’t even get a tracking number Or the tracking page didn’t work for my iPhone. I know when I got an add to plan last year, I received a DPD alert before the tracking page from EE even updated

Was hoping my Amazon delivery date would magically change to release day at some point this week but no luck, still showing Oct-Nov. Their preorder page still says ‘released on September 24’ which is a bit cheeky since they obviously don’t have any launch stock. Thinking of trying to find one on Friday somewhere else.
