Anyone on EE annual upgrade, I’ve messaged EE to make sure we can upgrade in September since last years iPhones were delayed and we could only upgrade in November. So I don’t think we should be charged if we upgrade before November.

I’ll let you know when I find out
I spoken to them, for me my upgrade date is the 1st Jan 2022. If you want to upgrade before the year then it's £100. I asked what the fee was if I didn't send my 12 Pro Max back, which is £550. Locked in £740 from MM. So I'll be up about £90. Once I pay the £550 plus the £100 for early upgrade.

I thought with the iUP you do have to pay a deposit of £69 up front when you take up the plan in-store.

With the Barclays interest free option (which is what I am on now with my iPhone 12), they don't ask for a deposit (I think....!!!).
Yes, you're right. iUp carries a deposit of £69, which is essentially the first first payment.

With the Barclays 24 months interest-free credit option, there is no deposit but me trading my phone in brings the total cost down, which is then divided into 24 monthly repayments which are lower.

As JinJin says in the thread, both ultimately cost the same. My balance to pay off the loan is £380 or so, which is in the ballpark of what I had left to pay off in previous years on iUp or the iPhone Payments plans.

The major disadvantage for me trading in with Apple against the 24 month plan is I won't get top dollar vs selling privately or to Music Magpie. When the 12 Pro Max came out, the difference in value between what Apple was offering vs Music Magpie with no booster code for my 11 Pro Max was £580 vs £630 or so from memory, so bearable within reason. There may or may not be a bigger difference this year.

So there is £100 upgrade fee before the year + you gotta send the phone in? I just don't like the £100 upgrade fee lol

...same! They use their 'special' Apple screen protector contraption thing - applied the protector with zero bubbles!

I'm a pro at that myself anyway - had years of practise...!!!
Do the Apple ones still follow the shape of the notch? That’s the dealbreaker for me unfortunately, hence the preference for ESR. I prefer that to be protected too

....hmm I can't quite remember if they do or not (I currently have an ESR one on my 12 now anyway!).

I do know that the ones Apple install in-store are the Belkin branded ones - if you can find this on the Apple Store, I guess you'll get your answer.

EDIT - It seems that all of Belkin's protectors on the Apple Store have the notch cut out:

Same - I’ve used the ‘full coverage’ ESR screen protector on the 12 Mini for he last year and it‘s been brilliant. Just a small cutout for earpiece/speaker grille. Can not go back to a notched SP now!

The reduction in MM prices has me itching to get the phones off ASAP so I don't miss my 21 days...
Still can't find my old 5s though.

Same but I don't have a replacement device to use in the meantime. I also gave 2 sims in my iPhone, so would need two phones! First world problems eh?

Just locked a price of £423 for my 11 pro max 256g
If I remember correctly I can order online and pay in full as soon as pre orders open, then collect in store and do the Barclays finance right?

They basically said, if you want to upgrade before 12 months, then it's £100 and there is nothing they can do about it the charge.Sucks, but I'll make some profit out of them.

No I'm not going to send my phone back, sold to MM for £740.

I'll probably end up just buying the mid tier 13 Pro Max, then sell my 11 Pro Max once Ive moved across from it.
I'm in no rush TBH.

yes the Belkin protectors used by Apple don't cover the front camera/faceID module
I purchased one those these last year and for some reason part of it wouldn't stick to the screen properly. It was expensive so I called Apple and was told I would have to take it to a store, but I have no Apple stores near me. It was a disappointing experience. Although after nearly a year with no screen protector I have no marks on my 12 Pro.

Way too low - I always end up selling private TBH.
Even Music Magpie are offering £470 right now!

I'm expecting at least £500-550 for my 11 Pro Max 256GB by selling private.

that is a shame if not near a store. Apple have swapped out their installed protector for me in the past with similar issues.. they're pretty good if, as you say, you're near to a store.

then again, if you had installed your own and had the same issue you'd have been in the same position
