Just locked a price of £423 for my 11 pro max 256g
If I remember correctly I can order online and pay in full as soon as pre orders open, then collect in store and do the Barclays finance right?

Way too low - I always end up selling private TBH.
Even Music Magpie are offering £470 right now!

I'm expecting at least £500-550 for my 11 Pro Max 256GB by selling private.

seems you've marked it as poor in grading? did you add the UPGRADE21 code and get another £30 added?

and yes, you can pay in full when pre-orders open (hopefully 1pm on Friday 17th)

you just have to keep it in good condition!

I think I even left the film wrapping on it but even its moved to paper now that won't work
Gotcha. I suppose if worst comes to worst then I'm stuck with a spare phone for £399 😂

so the the perennial question of whether to restore from back up or start a fresh? :D

I went a fresh last year and said I'd sort out the apps I use and don't use.. but in the last 12 months I've never bothered and my home screen is a mess... think I'll start afresh again!

just need to remember if Microsoft Authenticator can be backed up now

I'm starting fresh.
Authenticator will restore as long as you have a Microsoft account connected to it or something I think?
EDIT: Yep, make sure iCloud is turned on in settings too. https://support.microsoft.com/en-gb...ator-app-bb939936-7a8d-4e88-bc43-49bc1a700a40

...I've always restored from back up ,and never had any issues, as that brings across email accounts, password apps AND their stored passwords, finance apps and their data, position of apps and folders on the Home screen, etc, etc.

Starting afresh means all the above data needs inputting from scratch all over again.....

I'm very tempted by this...
Have you done this before?
This is what I will be doing, if I start to run out of time on the MM deal. I've done it in the passed as well, bought a 11 inch MBA for use whist I was on holiday in the US a while ago. Had no issue returning it.

those who have locked in with MM at £740 and now they have dropped the price, do you think MM will purposely say phone is worth less money? not ethicial i know but business is business!

Not in my experience. It’s the nature of their business to honour prices for the stated number of days when the trade in prices tumble. They even honoured a promo code that shouldn’t have been live last year. It was disabled within a couple of hours and had no issue

How have you got on with the Mini? I wish I got that, for the purpose of using my iPhone less!
I’ve loved it but battery life and battery health have been an issue. Ended up buying an Anker 5k MagSafe charger to get me though the day. Now at 86% battery health after 10 months so pretty frustrating. The form factor (for me) is spot on - love it and would be going for the 13 Mini if battery was substantially better. Will go Pro instead

I also started fresh last year, I finally managed to sort my apps this year so everything is in tidy folders on the home screen.

So thinking its the best option to restore this time.

all my passwords are in iCloud Keychain so no issue on those for any devices for me, its just a chance to download a sort the mess out currently that is my home screen

... which is a pain if you have several personal email addresses with different server addresses, and fat fingers. o_O

The only things I've never liked with backup and restore is that the photo image count stays the same rather than resetting; and that now apps are downloaded from the store, so if you have an app on an old phone or iPad that no longer exists in the store you're lost it forever. Which I have over the last few years.
