I used to do something similar ... Reloadable Tesco Gift Card with %5 off. They said no in-store when i just tried to purchase an iTunes Voucher with it, but when I lumped it in with the weekly shop they never questioned it 😅

This is what my work uses, managed to get a 20% off code for EE, was only supposed to be used for new customers but called up after my order and got them to add it, they didn't check.
I’ll try it with just a £10 voucher this year and then use properly next year. I have already saved a lot of money this year any way with the MM trade in I normally just take to a phone shop for a couple hundred.
Doing the same, and thanks for the reminder! Just used our 'rewards' scheme at work to load some money on my apple gift card (4% discount) then will use the 10% Accessories discount for the purchase with the gift card funds - double dipping
Thought it wise to load the gift card today before the store goes down just in case anything goes on sale immediately after the event (cases... airpods pro....?)
Has anyone got experience of applying a gift card credit against a new iPhone when purchasing on presale on the Apple Store App i.e., in the rush of the presale?
... would be good to know if the option shows up / isn't a faff, I'm not brave enough to buy a gift card to the value of a new iPhone in case it doesn't work, but 4% the total is tempting. I'll defo use it next year if I see it available for use.
I know the PayPal credit option only shows up for web purchases.
You can normally pre order the Apple Watch straight after the event as well. Looking forward to frantically trying to see if my wrist will be able to withstand the brick of a pro whilst still getting release day delivery.
Never done collection do you need to select time slot and location at the checkout before buying it
They don’t typically offer any discount on new devices. It’s usually many a month before the 2% is allowed. It’s not currently available on the m1 MacBook pros or the m2 macs!
That was one benefit of picking up from apple and getting them to install the protector at the time. They’ve happily replace mine when it looked like had started to peel in a corner
It’s Apple why am I not surprised that 2% would be big money if allowed out of there profits

I didn’t do it for the iPhone launch but did for the mbps last year. They went on sale straight after the event so no time to even look at the pro or max and a bit of a mad panic.
I remember the store was playing up under load but when it finally loaded properly, I was able to select my gift card balance when I was signed in
I agree, that’s a huge benefit. I don’t live anywhere near a store unfortunately.
They are the old type however I've just checked with the credit I have left and you can use it for Hardware.

Ah damn is this usually what happens? I don’t think I’ve ever pre-ordered a watch before, always gone in store a few months later.

My last watch, the Series 5, was available at the same time as the phone not earlier.
Last year, the series 7 didn’t even come out when the phone did and was marketed as ‘later this fall’
It used to be same day as phone but the past couple of years maybe more 🤔 have been after the event. It’s basically a pre buzz to pre ordering the phone 😂😂 You get to see it sitting in your account. Series 7 was after youth as JinJin said.
Edit: I am pretty sure the S5 could be preordered straight after the event though as I did it from work.
