What model are you getting?

Next year I don't think the same compromise on memory size will be a workable option for me so I really hope the ordering process is smoother, or even better that 256GB does finally become the entry level.
I think unless there was a project I desperately needed the phone for I would have waited a week or two to get the one with the storage that I really needed. It'd be worth the wait to have what you want for the best part of a year, no?

I've ordered a 14 Pro Max 256 and silicone case, totalling £1358. However, I've got two pending charges - one for phone+case and another for the case:

Maybe only the £1358 will actually be collected, or maybe it's something to do with the case being shipped separately for delivery on the 14th.

Finally caught up - what a wild ride this has been. How's everybody feeling now that the rush is over? Feel like this week is going to go quick!

Fair point but I'm going away for a 3 month trip in a few weeks and I didn't want to take the risk. Also, I've never failed to get a launch day phone ever since my first iPhone (iPhone 4) so there's a bit of stubbornness involved. I'll revisit Apple and a few other retailers now and then to see if I can find unexpected stock updates in the next week. I could also see if I can get something in the 14 days after launch and return my 128GB if I can. Setting up a new phone twice would be a bit of a pain, I always like to set them up from scratch, but not the end of the world.

With the Pros capable of shooting Pro Res with HDR, 256GB should be base storage for them. This is especially true because if you are a content creator you will likely shoot multiple takes.

Now that the rush is over, I am 100% convinced some on here will have 'buyers remorse' over the weekend at spending thousands (some orders I have seen on here are OVER £2K o_O ) on a mobile phone..!!!

What an absolute nightmare today....... long time participant on these forums and had every iPhone ever on launch day (like many others here :) ). Did all pre-order finance stuff (for 2 phones as one for my wife also) Wednesday night and was all set to go.......... 1.01pm was in the store checking out - and then got the dreaded red phone number issue which just could not get past (was trying for 90 mins). Delivery dates already slipped to October so rather than let things get worse I did a full payment order with Apple so at least had something ordered (Amazon had sold out of models by time I looked there).
Then, about 3pm I went back to my pre-order and low and behold not only did it work, but came up with a Friday pick up slot at my local store. Same for the wife phone also but with a few attempts needed as time slot kept disappearing by time tried to place order.
So 2 hours of stress but at least sorted now. Now waiting for orders to let me cancel the full payment ones - wouldn't want Apple to cancel my pick up orders by thinking I had too many!!!! (though not sure there is actually a limit any more in any case).

For those still having issues - keep checking pick up options as looks like they are being released throughout the day.

Would love to know what the red phone number issue was really about and why it suddenly started working!

View attachment 2055108Ok .. so eventually the order went through then when I clicked on it to check it tells me payment problem (Apple Pay Card has a lower credit limit than the cost of the phone!) ... so now attempting to push through new payment method and, although I’ve approved it three times already on bank app the apple verification page is completely stuck! .. so frustrating!
This is how I ended up with two orders as it hung like this then 'failed' - Redid it and then had two orders. The second order is 'awaiting payment' now as i used gift cards on both (names ones) and can't cancel it yet

I do wonder if once you complete that order the delivery date slips. As others have mentioned it only loosely says 'release date: 16th September' - which is not the same as delivering...
On iPhone 12 Pro Amazon delivered these on release day and honoured the miss price of £900 I think it was

See the point with the trip. Try checking your local store each day at 6am for stock available to reserve for pickup, quite a few folk on here (me included) have picked up a phone close to launch by doing that in previous years.

Orders still showing unable to cancel atm, I managed to get through the Preorder fest in time for orders to change to October 3-10 for both devices I ordered. But my carrier was offering them still for September 16th; placed an order there for 14 Pro Purple 128gb and 14 Pro Max Purple 512gb; here's hoping I can cancel the Apple preorder still!

Recycling websites - which one is the best? I'd happily sway £20 either way for better/smoother service, rather than the best valuation!
