Had an LG OLED for 2 years and absolutely no desire to ever replace it. Wonderful piece of kit!
You will at some point can’t resist a oled upgrade lol
just thinking Currys was not taking vouchers for phones but was told this had now changed
when you put a 13 pro max they work so maybe just buy a tenners worth and if the code Reduces the price then lump on

Tempting. Are Currys generally reliable for iPhone launch?

My big concern is getting the £1400 of vouchers and then Currys goes out of stock, or messes up and I’m stuck with that many vouchers instead of cash…
Loads of people on here had issues with them either last year or year before, I forget which (promised release day delivery, then couldn't get stock) but some people seem to have found them OK, so who knows?

Just in case anyone else is in the same boat, I spoke to Apple yesterday re: changing the AC+ I'd ordered to AC+ with theft and loss: apparently once your order is preparing for shipment they can't change anything about it, even a non-physical thing like the AC coverage (which seems odd, but there we go). Options are:
  • Initiate a return for the AC+ part of the order after the phone arrives, then once it's cancelled buy a new policy
  • Speak to the AppleCare team and see if they can swap it over (retail support I spoke to yesterday wasn't sure if they could do that or not, I suspect it would be the same cancel then rebuy process)
Seems like it'd be simpler / less work all round for them to have the ability to change the order, but it is what it is I guess.

Got the 77” C1 as a ”Boxing Day” treat last year. Unbelievable TV!
Love the picture on our LG OLED but the software is a mess:
  • Won't record a series of a TV show, just records the first one then forgets the rest
  • Randomly forgets recordings we've set
  • TV guide jumps around when you're scrolling (e.g. you go down 3 pages then it jumps back to where you started without you doing anything)
  • TV randomly reboots (turns itself off and on again, in effect)
Maybe ours is faulty? Don't see what hardware fault would cause all that though.

Ah that’s a shame! I don’t use any of those live TV features but I’ve never had any random reboots.

Unfortunately EE charge you every time you move SIM - so if you like moving your SIM between phones (as I do) it costs - physical SIM doesn't (obviously).......

Not anymore they don’t! I moved my esim to a burner Friday and it was free. Just did it through the EE app!

How easy is it to switch to a new phone do you know? That's the main thing putting me off moving my EE SIM to being an eSIM - but if it's straightforward, then I might change it for my new 14 Pro.

For those that choose not to restore from a backup, how does iCloud Photo Library handle your people album?

I have quite an extensive people album of all of my family and friends with thousands of photos. I don't want to have to set all of that up again, but I am tempted by the benefits of a fresh start as my backup actually dates back to the OG iPhone from 2007...

The ‘lower end’ models be it the aluminium ones or the SE are relatively cheap buying new (compared to the stainless steel and up). Also people pay a lot for a new strap too in the upfront cost which doesn’t reflect in the resell price.

Like spec’ing loads of extras in a new car, they’re pretty much irrelevant in the 2nd hand price when selling.
It’s the same with getting more memory than you need, I don’t think it’s reflected in trade in prices.

Do we know how often Amazon UK restocks? Product page says they are trying to get stock as soon as possible. I need one of those space black PM.

That’s strange as WebOS is generally classed as the best TV operating system. I love it.

It has been getting the updates has it?

Anyone having payment issues? For some reason my payment didn't go through and when updating details I receive the same error.

"Authorization failed. Please verify your card information or choose another card."

I've tried 3 cards (2 different banks), all of which have the correct funds, and I always get this error... :(

Yep, think a few people have had the same issue. I think people said ringing and giving them your card details over the phone fixes it. Ask @sparkie1984

True but the resell value on my S6 SB Titanium is shocking for a 2 year old device

Yep, I dont think the ‘average’ consumer care about titanium etc, they’ll happily pick up a base one which I think reflects in the price.

It’s definitely not great, question is if you cash in early via eBay or something whilst the prices are high or wait another year or two when they really plummet

Now that’s worth celebrating! So they did get it in the end?! Did you get any notification of it?
