Careful with MusicMagpie folks.

Put my phone in the smartdrop kiosk today and it actually worked, but they adjusted the offer down as I’d missed the 21 day cut off.

Checked my email and the 21 days is up on Monday. So they’ve adjusted it down for no reason.

I’ve accepted the offer as there’s none better than what I was offered for my 12PM, and I’m not going to have time to take it back to the kiosk tomorrow (everything will be closed on monday) and no customer service was available, but I’m going to try and get them to adjust it back.

What’s people’s thoughts on going naked with AC+? now it has unlimited repairs at £25 a screen? never broken or lost a phone but always had a case on. kinda wanna enjoy it without a case but interested to hear others thoughts

Morning all - still having a mare with EE eSim… Been on live chat and they’ve said that they’ve activated it so just waiting now. They’ve deactivated the sim in my old phone already. Flying to America in 2.5 hours so hoping it’s all sorted before then!!

This is what I usually do, but it’s a personal balance of risk vs reward, so I think you need to decide for yourself.

Insurance never seems worth it until you need to claim.

This year I went with the Spigen AlignMaster screen protector (2 pack), last year I went with ESR Armorite.
Had no issues last year and so far seems to be the same this time. I am glad it was a 2 pack as the first one had a bit of dust under it that I must have missed, the second applied perfectly.

Banking apps are the worst. Appreciate its a security layer and it’s your money they are protecting but Sainsburys bank for example needed to change a phone number and had to answer several questions from my credit report which I just didn’t know so failed now my account is locked and I have to have a letter in the post until then cannot use my credit card. Who sits there with a copy of their credit report to change a number?

It needed to send a security code to change number to the old number I no longer have. I know basically that’s my fault but should not have to go through my credit history to be able to change a phone number.

I was going to use this phone without a case and if dropped / damaged then use my AppleCare to get a replacement. If I’ve got to go through those 4 hours again with the rest of the bank apps I might just basically never take the phone out of the house.

There has to be a better way whilst maintaining security. It’s ridiculous. As people have said photos of passports and then being referred for manual checks for the next 24 hours too. Not right.

Change your bank.. highly recommend Lloyds or Halifax ones, literally took minutes to get set up on a new device

AC+ is great for those situations but wouldn’t cover scuffs and scrapes which would annoy me too much. It’d also hurt the resale value which is an important factor that allows me to upgrade each year

Won’t lie I’m a little bit stressed as I’m away for two weeks and need my phone number!!

Boarding in about an hour I think
I would be pretty stressed too, keep us updated and hopefully they get it sorted quickly.

Would it still activate in the US or or do you have to be in the UK?

It’s all too nerve wracking playing MM roulette and getting too close to tue end of your window. Annoying you’ve got stuck that way too.

With mm I can only say the earlier you get it to them the better (for individuals sanity!).

Hope the drop in price wasn’t too big

I like to just have a couple of current accounts and a couple of credit cards spread around various banks rather than all my eggs in one basket but yes, I could do that.

It was my fault with Sainsburys, two years ago in lockdown work provided us with a phone now we are back full time the phones have been handed back stupidly never changed the verification text number over but didn't think I'd have to draw blood and provide my DNA for Sainsburys to change the number but lesson learned.

Doesn’t look like there was much new stock on apple.com this morning, as suspected. Can imagine it being into next week when that might change now.

Hope everyone is enjoying their new phones! Going for a walk soon so will test out the camera

Old device has downloaded offline apple music. I transferred to new device. Offline music doesn't get transferred because i am not seeing on new device. I have to manually download offline music again. Is this right?
That’s correct.

Saying that, looks like you stand a better chance of getting a 512gb (pro at least) in stores.

Monzo is great but their customer service is glacially slow. I'm talking days to respond nowadays, rather than hours - or instant live chat as it was a few years back.

However, as it's so good you rarely need it - but when you do, it's frustrating.
I get what you mean. The more popular they have become, the slower their CS is. Curve is the same. But it’s still much better than HSBC, my previous bank. The Monzo apps is fantastic.

That’s very cheeky of them! 100% go through customer services and let us know how you get on?

£65, so not world ending but still irritating! They offered me £520 plus the discount code to bring it to £540 for my 256 12PM.
