What model are you getting?

popped into John Lewis this morning and they had the new iPhones on display. Only problem is JL use big security locks with sprung cables on their display phones so there is no way to judge the weight. Will just have to wait until I can get to an Apple Store.

After a couple of days now I've turned off the always on display, I just don't see the use in it and I don't like the widgets being one colour at all.

Overall though it's a hell of an upgrade from my 12Pro.

I turned it off instantly because I kept thinking I had a message - should have realised it wasn’t as nobody messages me

I turned it off too.

It’s useful at work, on my desk but at home, pretty pointless. Find myself keep catching my phone screen out the corner of my eye, thinking I have a notification, but not.

Anyone experiencing their 14PM getting warm? I was just using the camera app and top half of phone is warm to the touch. Nothing massively concerning but should it be getting warm from a few minutes with the camera app?

Quick question … I had Apple Watch sale in my basket at MM but it’s disappeared! .. no matter, starting the order again but wondering if anyone has a code maybe? .. I used UPGRADE22 for my phone (which I ended up selling to my neighbour instead) so it won’t let me use that one. Thanks 🙂

Try GET10EXTRA :) gives 10% I think, got it in an email.

How’s everyone getting on with the battery life on their 14 Pro? I found it pretty bad yesterday. Today however so far it seems much better even with AOD still on…

I think it is going down slightly faster than the 13PM. Probably be better to look at it at the end of the week but looks like I am using around 10% more.

Posted my 13PM to music Maggie yesterday and already had notification this morning that Royal Mail have done their part of the delivery and it’s at the central hub. Happy with that as assumed it wouldn’t get there till Wednesday what with the weekend, bank holiday and a 48hr postage

Has anyone who ordered with Amazon had their phone delivered yet? Mine was meant to come yesterday but said it’s been delayed. I’m my experience that usually means it’s not going to arrive (I’ll leave it up to others to figure out what might have happened there…!). Annoying as should a replacement be sent, the estimated shipping time now for the 14 Pro is 1-2 months…

Amazon have delayed parcels to me before if the status actually says delayed this usually means it is delayed. Have you tried contacting them via live chat as they will actually call the distribution centre to find out what the delay is.

As others have said it's deffo less than my 13PM, regardless of what Apple says, but will reserve judgment for a week or so.

I so very rarely do this but I've just submitted feedback to Apple to make the AOD darker or to at least add an option where it only shows clock and widgets and no wallpaper. I'm sure I'm not the first to do this, nor the last, so hopefully Apple will at least explore it.

Not great on my pro to be honest. An evident reduction from my 13P but I’ll reserve formal judgement until next week when it settles down!

Yesterday mine was probably about the same as my 12 Pro and considering that's just about 2 years old it wasn't great... I definitely think some optimisation is needed from iOS 16 but I'll give it a week to pass complete judgment.

Took 14PM off 100% at 10pm yesterday and I’m currently at 54% at 13:32. Is this good for those of you who had 13PM?

I’m coming from an X which died in 3.5 hours so this is a massive improvement from that.

So I’ve been to the EE store today. Rather than attempt to transfer the eSIM over to my 14 Pro Max I got a new physical SIM instead. As of yesterday when I set up my new phone I had no cellular connection on there. Now I do with the new physical SIM.

I think I’m going to stick with a physical SIM for now as I have no need for a second number. The cellular connection on my Apple Watch has also been restored although I’ll be wanting to transfer that over to the Ultra when I get it on Friday.

That's a good shout, I think they've tried to be different by allowing the wallpaper to show unlike Android but perhaps not thought about the impact to battery life... I'm keeping it on for now to get a true representation of battery life with AOD and hope that they add some customisation options in the future.

Without knowing how much you've used the phone, I'd say that's probably lower than where I'd be with the 13PM. Considering you were asleep for a big chunk of that time (I assume) that means you've used 46% in around 5 hours of awake time? I charged my 14PM to 94% last night at 11pm. I'm currently on 58% with about 3.5 hours of screen active time.

To give you an idea, on the 13PM, I'd go from around 85% at 8/9am to about 25-30% by about 10pm in the evening. And that was with mid-to-heavy use.

Edit: again, as others have said, it's worth giving the phone a few days to stabilise etc. before judging the battery.
